A major update to the CONSORT reporting guidance for clinical trials was published last week. šŸ“Œ CONSORT 2025 replaces all previous versions and should be used from now on. So what’s new and what’s different? 1/7 #MethodologyMonday #116 (COI - I am a co-author)

šŸ“£ Deadline Extended! We heard you! We're extending the abstract submission deadline for Impact Ignite 2025 to 30 May 2025. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the conversation shaping the future. Learn more and submit your abstract today! impactignite2025.com #researchimpact #impactacademy

I’m extremely proud to be a patient representative, and very lucky to combine this with research designed to make a difference. This paper forms one part of a much larger suite of work to improve care for vascular patients :-) www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

It's National Unicorn Day! nationaltoday.com/national-uni... For those who celebrate, enjoy.

I live a nostalgic TV watch, and am enjoying watching Kenneth Kendall asking all female Treasure Hunt contestants if they’re a housewife.

Thanks David!

My book is 2 years old! How time flies :-)) A huge thanks to everyone who’s read/used it - I’m genuinely chuffed at the reception it’s got. A slightly longer post on LinkedIn! www.linkedin.com/posts/julie-...

I’ve just given someone directions in London and I’m now concerned they’ll be lost for all time

When your professional life and personal habits collide :-)

It’s Shrove Tuesday, which means it’s the annual Atherstone Ball Game. Oh lord…. tradfolk.co/customs/cust...

Well yes I could lip sync less vigorously to McFly as I walk to the tube, but where’s the fun in that?

Half term is really just taking a part time job as a caterer

If you ever want to hear something immensely sensible, throughly thought out, and on the pulse of things in the sector, just read anything @lizziegadd.bsky.social says.

Struggling to plan REF? I can fully recommend the combination of leftover Christmas wrapping paper (reversed) + post-its-acquired-at-various-conferences.

Not often does an established post of this type come up - the first of three new established posts to come to the Centre for Behaviour Change over the next 3 years to support our growth. Please spread the word - the successful candidate will be joining an effective and lovely team!

I realise I got out of the practice of being on social media (a definite reaction to deterioration of things in the ā€˜other place’) But my word it’s worth posting when so many meetings today have been with FABULOUS women. Laughing to the point of crying & nodding furiously at brilliant talks. Bravo!

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you’re having a lovely, restful and kind day :-)))

I’m not currently reading Agatha Christie by a crackling fireplace on a snowy day whilst indulging in multiple cups of tea and freshly-baked scones, so no, I’m afraid your email didn’t ā€œfind me wellā€.

A joyously mixed day of excellent impact chats with colleagues, the endorphin hit of wiping clean my wipe clean notebook, and the realisation that I look like an idiot in any hat.

I also earlier self medicated an headache with a mince pie. Head still hurt but I was happier about it.

There’s something glorious about an evening which combines glorious classical music, sketching a slightly offbeat impact-related piece whilst cooking dinner, and realising there’s still some Halloween chocolate in the house.

If you've been wondering where I went: my team in Oxford (60 of us!) build beautiful tools for NHS data. We help researchers work on the whole nation's GP records while protecting - provably - everyone's privacy. It's big potatoes! www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRjR...

For the readers amongst you - the annual National Book Tokens Hidden Book Games is out! I both love it (it’s books + a quiz) and hate it (so far I have 1/20 🤣🤣) One competition game, several ā€˜for fun’ hiddenbooks.nationalbooktokens.com

I've tried to pull together a starter pack of people interested in managing (mostly UK) HE research. If you are new to BlueSky, it might be useful place to start to find your tribe. If you think you should be in the list, do shout. go.bsky.app/UoFZTzx

Building out a research impact list. Let me know who I should add. Slowly finding my people on this platform.

Just finished my first (and lovely) month at Northeastern University London - how time flies! I couldn’t have had a warmer welcome, and I’ve not yet got (too) lost. Winning all round :-) #happyimpactgeek
