Renovation programs could help, and digitizing the wait list if it hasn't been already. Hard to say, of course.

A living shoreline using natural materials and vegetation would have likely worked better. I'm not sure what inspires a community to spend $500k on a project that seems on the outside to be unresearched. www.fisheries.noaa.gov/insight/unde....

Not only did Salisbury lose $500,000, they also hastened the loss of sand by making a dune that was washed away, meaning they will have to pay even more to replenish the missing sand.

I'd take the Daily Beast with a grain of salt. Still, more credible news sources have covered the same story, so we know it is factual. Pointing this out may seem nitpicky—and in some ways, it is—but being critical of our news is essential. mediabiasfactcheck.com/daily-beast/

You're right. I've changed my mind. Additionally, air purifiers also create their own pollutants. What is the net difference in air purity between them and without them? pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10....

I do the opposite since I have a dog, and people have accidentally let my dog outside while I was sleeping and woke me up to catch them. My roomate has two cats and keeps their door open for the same reason, so I get it.

My job stole my wages twice. I got them back in a class action. Now I find creative ways to sleep at work. :)

From these studies we see sleeping with a door and windows open greatly improves air quality, but may disturb sleep if the area is noisy. Ideally, open doors might be good if you live alone and have no air purifier.

It's bad feng shui to keep your door open since it can disturb your sleep when people walk by, and most will sleep less deeply worrying about who may approach them while dreaming. However, the science is mixed. 1/ www.researchgate.net/publication/... www.researchgate.net/publication/...

We should do more to show appreciation for our nurses. Every day, they save lives and are impeccably dressed despite having no reflection.

I like using it to work through my thoughts on something. Dissoi logoi, Socratic dialogue, ideas to get my imagination running, summarization, etc. The main concern is ensuring it's never your final step.

One may get a general idea of where to go, or maybe one will get perfect directions, but either way, it is preferable to have it point one's destination out on the map to expedite the process rather than have it replace the map.3/3

If one is to use an LLM, it is best to think of it as a local pointing one in the right direction rather than an infallible map. 2/

Given how superimposing and grouping work within a transformer neural network, which most LLMs are, if one is attempting to get accurate sources in sound academic arguments, it is advisable to get those sources from a search engine instead. 1/

OpenAI has a fascinating team in terms of alignment. GPT consistently says it has no bias and is completely neutral, which is a lie. It is impossible to be wholly neutral (e.g., how could they be neutral in giving people bomb-making instructions)?

Are you referring to the alignment?

It may speed up one's research time, but it is advisable to double-check its work.

GPT-4 can occasionally provide non hallucinated sources. However, it accurately replicates a confirmation bias as well, likely due to how it separates concepts into adjacent groupings and focuses on them based on how it weighs the likelihood of one group's relation to another.

It's pretty incredible how much cutting out alcohol helps. It's like a breath of fresh air, and you have fresher breath too ^^

The most trans problem in history is being unable to open a pickle jar lol, so that's something to look forward to. >>

It looks like some stuff I've seen from before the days of HyperGANs, but some odd architecture made me suspicious. Reverse image search showed it was from a single tweet. If it is real, tell me where though! It looks lovely 😊
