“What did they expect?” is kind of a misleading question. The people who supported them didn’t expect something very specific. They expected to own the libs. They expected people they resented to suffer. The expected the world to burn. It wasn’t about specifics.

Who did this?

Everyone wants there to be a grand scheme behind all of this but the terrible truth is that extremely stupid people are in charge and they have a fanatical devotion to wrong, childlike concepts of society and economics cooked up by right wing radio hosts in order to sell tainted dietary supplements

The second horseman of the apocalypse has arrived. Elon, meet your new sister.

Once thing we can say for certain is that Donald Trump has been convicted of more crimes than some of the people he is deporting to a black hole in el salvador with no due process or recourse www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Whoops

Not being allowed to hand water to people in line to vote no matter who they are voting for, while being allowed to hand people million dollar checks to get their vote, is the most American thing ever.

Not to pile on, but every 'c' in 'Pacific Ocean' is pronounced differently.

Yep

The Heritage Foundation created a database of voter fraud convictions, and tried to lie with numbers by not providing any context. Brookings put those numbers in context (hundreds of millions of ballots b/n 1982-2024) and easily showed that fraud was nearly non-existent.

He drinks a whiskey drink He drinks a vodka drink He drinks a lager drink He drinks a cider drink He sends a text that remind him of the war plans He sends a text that reminds him of the war crimes #Hegseth

The Signal story is really the perfect example of how Trump's litany of abuses have completely warped media coverage and the standard he is held to. It's being covered, but on the Trump curve, it's just another scandal, as opposed to a major national security threat that should lead to resignations.

If the top people are this sloppy and incompetent, imagine what the underlings they brought in are like.

“Wait guys, P. Hegseth is typing…”

We are opening government investigations into women who refuse to date Trump supporters

these guys are such fucking losers

Out of all the bullies and monsters in the administration, Marco Rubio seems like the purest specimen of how Nazism happened—not a sincere bigot or ideologue, just an empty shell who has literally no limits on what he will agree to do or pretend to believe, embracing brutality to fill his weakness

Eggs now cost $15 a dozen and your retirement portfolio is down by 30%, but at least no one has to be ashamed about being racist anymore

lol, what?

Living through history is not as fun as I imagined

Mahmoud Khalil showcases an ugly thing about America: freedom of speech (and religion) poll very well in the abstract but if you probe with specific examples of things people don’t like the support falls through the floor. The default is “freedom for things I agree with, for the rest, the lash.”

Erica Y. Carr should be in federal prison by the end of this.

We went from "I will end inflation and drive down prices on day 1" to "this recession isn't my fault" in 49 days.

There IS an episode of NewsRadio — the fiftieth episode! On Pluto this minute! — where Joe (played by Joe Rogan) gets to host a radio show and the gag is like, he just makes stuff up and doesn’t respect facts and blames the lies all on his on-air persona and this used to be funny and I’m miserable

“This is going to be a massive loss of life overall,” a surgeon who formerly led USAID’s global health initiatives tells TNR. “Children are likely already dying, and will clearly be dying in large numbers.”

How bad this is depends on how far they are willing to go. Are they willing to fabricate evidence to attack vaccines? My guess would be yes.

“Transitioning” from 50 straight months of job growth, a 400% rise in manufacturing construction and the best back-to-back years for the stock market in a quarter century. 🤡

Alina Habbard posted: NOTHING CAN STOP THIS MAN FROM FIGHTING FOR HIS COUNTRY. David Simon had a succinct 2-word response: “Bone spurs.”

If you were looking for a unified theory explaining the last 20 years of Supreme Court politics, you could do a lot worse than “Citizens United was a direct reaction to Obama winning, and Shelby County was a direct reaction to Obama winning again”

As they grow more and more AI dependent, these people reveal how little they read. See also Bill Ackman, who is constantly demanding “investigations” over stuff that would be solved by reading to the seventh graf. Arrogant, lazy, stupid.

An NPR review of new data added to DOGE's "wall of receipts" finds the group quietly changed previous errors, added new ones and still has little verified savings to show for its work.

It’s just wealth transfer from the government to Trump’s buddies. Crypto needs a liquidity pool of real money. The government is going to give the crypto market real cash, and all the people who bought crypto will be able to cash out for U.S. dollars. It’s 100% just theft of government money.

They just lie their way through everything.

It’s insane to think that the Trump administration was more welcoming this week to the Tate brothers than to the President of Ukraine.

CSPAN Caller from West Virginia: I’m a diabetic and I’m on Medicare. When Biden was in there, my insulin was $6 for a 28 day supply. I just went to CVS, it went back up to $80…

Part of the lesson here is that Trumpists, like many bullies, don’t handle it well if you stand up to them rather than caving. If Trump or Vance or their supporters had any character this petulant display and Zelenskyy’s defiance would be humiliating to them.

Just a reminder that even while being Putin’s petulant stooge and shaming our country Trump is also inevitably a liar.

The Trumpists will LOVE the international condemnation of this farce. They’re fundamentally trolls: “oh seems like you’re triggered.”
