Another wish for #fungifriends, have a great #fungifriday evening. Behold the Morchella esculenta AKA the yellow morel. This is one of the most readily recognized of all the edible mushrooms & as many of us know, highly sought after. These were found 3 years ago!

I was greeted at my front door this morning by the first male Ruby-throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) to return. I had made the nectar yesterday, so I quickly filled the feeder for him. He is 11 days earlier than last year. Yes, I keep a journal. This photo of a female was taken last year.

Good Friday morning! It's 6:26 AM & now 60°, with a deep blue early morn sky. Rain is forecasted. My photo today, featuring the color yellow are Prairie Coneflowers (Ratibida pinnata) that grow near our village's dog park and bloom every summer.

Sitting at my great room table painting with acrylics, minding my own business & a FREAKING masked marauder 🦝 walks past my front door, glaces at me & makes a getaway before I could capture a photo! In broard daylight no less. This quick lousey pic is him making his escape over the deck's edge. WTH?
