About 50 years ago, I was reading political thrillers, including several by Fletcher Knebel. His 1966 novel, NIGHT OF CAMP DAVID, centers on a U.S. president who has gone insane. Signs of insanity include: desire for (a) an alliance with the USSR, and (b) annexation of Canada.

Isn't it kind of weird how things just go haywire for no reason at the beginning of each year, since like 2020? First it was covid, then it was the war in Ukraine, now it's the whole fiasco with Trump... I'm kind of tired of living through major historical events if I'm being honest.
