12 years ago I made a decision. I know I’m reasonably smart, I’m not a genius, but I’m sufficiently clever. So I figured that if someone can’t explain the big picture of a concept to me within a reasonable timeframe, either it’s too complex to work reliably or it’s BS*

I need you to understand that total head count WILL NOT DROP. The work still needs to get done. The work will be given to contractors and consultants, with a large margin being charged on top. This will result in reduced efficiency and capability, with increased cost.
