Which #ME02 liberal populist / progressive is going to run as an independent in 2026 vs. @golden.house.gov? Let's let ranked choice voting really do its thing.

If it were your active mission to destroy the geopolitical standing of the United States, I don't know how you could do a more effective job than the current administration short of, like, invading Switzerland or nuking the Vatican.

Fuck yeah, UMaine, and a big 🖕🏻to anyone who disagrees. 🏳️‍🌈

We simply had to intentionally destroy the world’s strongest economy while dismantling our scientific and educational infrastructure to ensure that a team with a trans girl would never finish second place in the Mountain West volleyball standings again

@golden.house.gov hope you're happy bub.

We dont talk about this piece enough in the tariff conversation. Even if you think the *concept* of tariffs isn't horrible (though I disagree), who would want to do business with us in the future? apple.news/AN4jTznuESpW...

Sounds like an April 1 thing, but no. Yes, shocker, porn isn't always what you think it is. Anyway. True story: you can go on freelancer marketplaces and find jobs in the developing world that pay (literally) a few bucks an hour and a small percentage of sales to do this.

The spirit of this seems good but it drops the ball on messaging, as liberal stuff so often does. If you can't broadcast up front how doing this will benefit average Americans in a single post, you're leaving a ton of opportunity to convince people on the table.

Amber Ruffin is an absolutely incredible comedian, and since the WHCA is a cowering feckless organization hellbent on betraying the American people through the dereliction of its duties, she should write a set herself and perform it on her own. Or stream it. I'd pay to watch.

For people who talk shit about China at every possible opportunity, this sounds remarkably similar to Chinese surveillance state tactics.

“the people calling me a nazi are obviously being paid off by a rich jew” is a helluva rebuttal

EXCLUSIVE: Tonight at the Kennedy Center, Guster brought on cast members from Finn, an LGBTQ+ kids musical that was recently canceled when Trump took over the center. They performed the band’s song “Hard Times” to a standing ovation. Full story, exclusive quotes and video on The Handbasket:

I’m coming from a place of relative expertise in this area and I can inform you that I just threw up in my mouth

Just for "fun" I listened to Levin on the radio last night while I was driving. Everyone should listen to conservative radio every once in a while. It's nonsensical, but hearing what's on the plate of the media diet of other people is so illuminating.

I pre-write the messages I leave for Collins and Golden and keep them in a note on my phone, and going back through them I can see how much my writing has improved over the last couple of months. tbh I’m pretty proud of the messages I’m leaving lately.

On the other site, Studio Ghibli-style AI output is going viral and allow me to just say it is profoundly depressing to see that stuff being used to promote OpenAI's latest product. Miyazaki famously called AI-produced art "an insult to life itself"—and this in turn is an insult to him.

This isn’t an “I told you so” thing since I never said anything about it to anyone, but like, who could’ve imagined that something could go wrong if you gave your genetic information to a private, for-profit company?

Not to pile on, but every 'c' in 'Pacific Ocean' is pronounced differently.

It's not much, but there's some small sense of comfort that I'm not as hypocritical in my beliefs as "libertarians" who think you should need to present ID issued by the federal government to vote or to anyone in a mask and hoodie on the street who approaches you and claims to be a federal officer.

Unidentified men grabbing someone off the street and putting her in a car because she wrote an op-Ed. This as flatly authoritarian as anything we’ve seen in this country in a very long time.

Let’s do this.

Any day I'm able to spend time in my two favorite cities is a pretty great day. #bangormaine

A great example of why I'm passionate about public transit: just arrived on time in Bangor on the Concord bus at 4:25, had to cross a busy Union Street to catch Community Connector by 4:27. I missed it by about 500 feet, and now I need to wait until tomorrow to pick up my car (garage closes at 5).

The lives of American troops - and every American life - depends on the people in charge of our government taking their responsibilities seriously. But again and again, including with the incompetence that came to light today, they are demonstrating the opposite. My full interview here:
