For the first time in 61 years, the Richmond County Staten Island St. Patrick’s Day Parade included local LGBTQ community groups. Great to march with my friend & colleague Kamillah Hanks. Sláinte to ALL! ☘️

Its been nearly 30 years since the Emergency Medical Service was merged with FDNY. I believe we must undo that merger and reimagine a standalone NYC Department of Emergency Medical Services to finally give EMS workers the respect they deserve.

New York City isn't broke but right now it feels broken. I'm running for Comptroller because it shouldn't be so damn hard to get by in the richest city in the world. Get plugged in: justinbrannan.com

Good night from Ridgewood, Queens! ✌🏼

It was great to catch up with my old friend & NYC Council colleague, Jimmy Van Bramer!

Pointing at my invisible watch to remind you that my next big fundraising deadline is soon! Can you chip in $25 before midnight tonight? bit.ly/Brannan4NYC Your donation will be matched 8:1

Your City Council has been hard at work for you this month! Check out February by the numbers ⤵️

Ramadan Mubarak! May this month be full of joy, reflection, and time with loved ones.

Trump's chaos and cruelty theater comes home to roost. "Consumers who are worried about tariffs, DOGE cuts, and fears of deportations seem to be pulling back on discretionary spending."

Trump is coming after NYC. As the City Council Finance Chair, I've fought like hell against some of the Mayor's budget cuts against CUNY, libraries, parks, and early childhood education. Now, I'm running for City Comptroller, and I won't just be a watchdog; I'll be a bulldog.

The @nywfp.bsky.social is committed to electing leaders who focus on improving the lives of working families instead of leveraging the power of government for the benefit of the rich & well connected.

It was great to hang with @nychange.bsky.social last night. Whether we're talking about climate justice, workers rights, or public safety, no other organization brings everyday people together like this and empowers them to make their neighborhoods better.

Call me crazy but I'm just not sure City Hall shares the collective urgency of the moment

Political insiders are obsessed with labels and putting everybody in a bucket. I wake up every day and say, "Look, are my decisions today going to make life easier for everyday working people?" That's it. That's the kind of Democrat I am.

Arts education should never be seen as ‘extra’, it’s essential. We’ve made real progress securing funding, but with Trump Republicans threatening federal cuts, we have to fight even harder. Every NYC public school student deserves access to arts and culture.

“Justin has been a critical partner in making city government more transparent and equitable. He’s always fought to break down barriers and level the playing field. I know he’ll bring that same focus and energy to the Comptroller’s office.” - CM Nantasha Williams

Preliminary budget hearings begin next Wednesday, and we want to hear from YOU! Sign up to testify in-person or on Zoom: council.nyc.gov/testify Listen to Finance Chair @justinbrannan.bsky.social explain the importance of public testimony on the city budget process ⤵️

NYWFP is proud to endorse @justinbrannan.bsky.social for NYC Comptroller. In the face of an emboldened Trump regime & scandal-ridden Mayor, he's stood arm-in-arm with communities facing the worst of attacks. We're proud to endorse a candidate who will lead will lead w/ courage & integrity.

We can't have second class first responders in New York City. EMS workers need pay parity NOW.

Our first @nywfp.bsky.social endorsement of the cycle: @justinbrannan.bsky.social for comptroller! Check out his policy ideas here: justinbrannan.com/jb-priorities

Right now, it feels like everything is coming at us. But we are not bystanders and New York City needs leaders who aren't just spectators. Last night, I sat down with @errollouis.bsky.social to talk about all the things.

Facing a sudden budget crunch, the Brooklyn Museum wants to lay off 50 @dc37nyc.bsky.social @uaw.org Central Labor Council workers. Not on my watch. Let's sit down and figure out a better way forward. Firing NYC union workers should never be on the table. Not now, not ever.

@nywfp.bsky.social ‘s first endorsement of the city election season is live! We endorse @justinbrannan.bsky.social because he willing to fight for all of us not just the elites.

Every decision I make as an elected official is guided by one simple question: does it make life better for everyday working people? So I am very proud to earn the first @nywfp.bsky.social citywide endorsement of 2025. We are building something real. Get plugged in! mobilize.us/jbfornyc

It’s a simple concept.

Oh no! Say it ain't so. Ferdinando's Focacceria is closing! New York City’s oldest Sicilian restaurant started out 121 years ago!!! selling focaccia to hungry longshoremen working on the Red Hook waterfront. Rest in panelle, Ferdinando's. We love you.

One of the Mayor's new "guardrails" prescribed by the Gov should be to immediately pass State leg preventing Charter Commission proposals from knocking other proposals off the ballot and ending this current Commission which (once again) only seeks to dilute City Council power.

Guys, we did it! Coldest NYC winter in a decade! 🥶

New York City is open for business today. 300K+ city employees, teachers, cops, firefighters, sanitation workers, and 4+ million others are doing their jobs today. That's what New York City is all about. We show up, and we do our jobs. No matter what.

NYC weather report

Doesn't matter what u think of congestion pricing, federal government doesn't get to make this decision. NY State passed a law, USDOT approved it. No matter what corrupt deal Donald Trump made with the Mayor, he isn't king. Only fools concede to false power. It's an illusion.

This is not sustainable.

We can't sit on our hands as our city spirals out of reach for working families. The sharpest tool we have to make NYC more affordable and bring down the cost of living is our city budget. That's why I'm running for NYC Comptroller.

More free ice skating for kids at Abe Stark in Coney Island tomorrow!! ⛸️
