I checked into the basketball game early in the 4th quarter and went to bed expecting the Pacers would lose, just as most people expected. Serves me right, Hoosier of little faith.

Some initial media reports said there were no arrests made during this week's raid in Minneapolis, but that's not quite true. Many of us are wondering what else isn't true. www.mprnews.org/story/2025/0...

File Under: Lead lede

After putting the garage back in order (sort of) and a late dinner, we put on an episode of Foyle's War, and it was a banger. It was the one where Sgt. Milner was suspected of killing his wife.

Some good news, for those who celebrate.

Garage project is now 2 hours past the projected completion time, and they had to use a spare block we had to fix an unanticipated problem. Wondering just how much this is going to cost us, but it had to be done. 💸

I had never heard of the BNU until I saw posts on this platform about it. Used well and sparingly, social media CAN make you better informed.

I see I missed a recent Community Voices piece in @minnpost.bsky.social trashing state policies to move us away from petroleum-fueled vehicles. I recognized the author as a former "fellow" with the Center of the American Experiment, because no one else writes this sort of nonsense.

There is the sound of sawing coming from the garage. There wasn't supposed to be any sawing....my guess is one or more of the bolts on the foundation anchors would not give way. 🤔

FIND NOODLE!

Headline writers don't use 'henchmen' as often as they should in a world filled with them. Minnesota’s workers are gaining. Trump and his henchmen could take it all away. minnesotareformer.com/2025/06/05/m...

The Biden administration was arguably the most pro-Native government in recent memory. That Guy? Not so much. www.mprnews.org/story/2025/0...

The garage repair project that begins today at the Manor is a good opportunity to re-assess what we need to keep and what we should sell, donate, recycle or trash. I had to clear out my dad's garage. Never again.

Once again, my city is in the news for all the wrong reasons. Enjoy the thrill of prison, you creep.

Our damn squirrels bit the buds off my peonies and ripped them apart, just a day or two before they (would have) bloomed. Little bastards never showed any interest in them before.

You don't really appreciate blue skies and clean air until you have to live w/o them for a few days.

One of the things I took out of the garage during today's cleanout was my mom's cane. She hated the thing, even though she needed it after cancer and chemo took its toll. I'm keeping in the corner of the bedroom, as a reminder that life is both fragile and resilient.

Crew shows up tomorrow to replace 10 crumbling concrete blocks in our detached garage foundation. Today's mission: clear out the garage of anything that might get in the way or get damaged.

DOGE hurts everything it touches (that's the point). I no longer have any trust or faith in any census results, economic indicators and other statistics that come from the current administration. Our government is now based on lies.

Interesting to see the different takes local media had on today's raids in Minneapolis and Bloomington. KARE-11 gave it a passing mention on their 4 pm, Strib & MPR went deeper, WCCO-TV sent a reporter to see the "warrants," which are still sealed. The Racket was there as it happened with updates.

I have to admit that I shop there more than ever before, looking for bargains on select food items.

When you offer incentives for your most experienced staff to get out, the message seems to be clear. Star Tribune offers employees buyouts minnesotareformer.com/2025/06/02/s...

Happy crappy air day, everyone. I'm bring my inhaler with me today.

Hoping the rain is finished by the time my shift at the recycling center begins. Dealing with wet cardboard is no fun.

I have never watched this show, and I don't plan to start now.

MOA or DOA? 😯

I don't blame good people for getting out while they can with this clown show in charge. 🤡

I see a movie where the fighting students of Whale Pass take on villains in The Last Fronter.

Yikes

I'll miss these 😢 The Topline: The end of the line? minnesotareformer.com/2025/06/02/t...

Mrs. Lungs and I watched this on free teevee last night, and boy, was it fun to see. 🏀📺

The Northtown Hobby Lobby is gone, so I will no longer be able to shop at a store I would never shop at.

"G'day, Valerie!"

Was really happy to hear that @kare11.bsky.social will air some games on free teevee this year. 🏀

A mockingbird has been at the Manor lately, singing up a storm.
