New detail: The goat idol at Trump’s home has golden private parts

Deacon Tracy's sermon begins at 28:00. It is well worth hearing this: www.youtube.com/live/jioOM11...

As I was getting dressed this morning it occurred to me that, although all the nooks are the same as ever, there are a lot more crannies than there used to be.

Today, in my hometown of Norman, Oklahoma, children are coming home from school to find their parents gone, taken by agents of the government. These are poor people, all bearing the image of God, all our brothers and sisters, part of our lives, communities, and churches. This is beyond shameful.

It’s important to know that a lot of productive activity is happening in person and offline, too. Not all of it can be broadcast online, but we’ve had hundreds of people showing up to our trainings, mobilizations, and more. Keep going. Tyranny is eroded by a sea of small acts. Everything matters.

Nothing has changed for Christians. We belong to a kingdom that is diverse, is equitable, and is inclusive. We have always only served that kingdom. Nothing has changed for us.

In case you missed it, American Nazis had no difficulty whatsoever understanding what Elon Musk was doing

There is a reason TikTok is so good at figuring out what you want to see, and why it’s better than everything else: it’s a weapon, and the best weapon is one you don’t know exists, or worse, one you think you can’t live without

ICE is planning immigration raids starting Tuesday. Please amplify.

Like it or not, Biden signed a bill demanding a 100% divesture of TikTok by Chinese company ByteDance over privacy concerns. Trump has already caved, recommending a 50% “joint venture” without any announced data protections for Americans. This must be that “America First” we’ve been hearing about.

What’s the difference between a gov controlling an algorithm, silently eliminating reach for things it doesn’t like, vs the same gov using its power, to demand that the platform remove the things it doesn’t like.? In China they are overt. With TikTok in the US, they control silently

Wow. Amazing how Buddhist poets over 2000 years ago perfectly anticipated social media

NJ passes a law preventing cranky fucknuts from going apeshit on school libraries and librarians. www.nj.com/politics/202...

A personal favorite. The older I get, the more poignant it becomes...

Love thy neighbor = Christian Deport thy neighbor = Christian Nationalist End of TED talk.

This ~ 💯%

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Romans 12:14 Put your faith in the power of blessing, not in the power of cursing.

The guy spend a chunk of his childhood in an internment camp because our government thought he might be dangerous because he was of Japanese descent. He was also gay when you were forced to hide it. It’s been much worse for a lot of people in our history. George knows what he’s talking about.

I think about this a lot as I'm panicking in my shower.

Be aware

Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven Matthew 5:44-45

“We can disagree and still love each other unless your disagreement is rooted in my oppression and denial of my humanity and right to exist” James Baldwin

Libraries, providing free information to everyone, are the bedrock of a free society. And a shoutout to all the librarians out there! Thank you for all you do!!! #ILoveLibraries

Principles should govern policy: First Principle: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” If it does not obey this principle, it is an immoral policy.

The more education someone has, the more likely they are to report attending religious services weekly. It's been true every year it's been collected. Today about 30% of folks w/a college degree are weekly attenders. It's ~20% of folks w/a high school diploma.
