New post: Q: Can the President end Harvard's tax-exempt status? A: No. (And it's not debatable). lawprofessors.typepad.com/nonprofit/20...

I worked for AmeriCorps a decade ago, recruited while volunteering for disaster relief after a flood. AC/TCC is written into TX disaster relief plans. NCCC members came from other states to help in the 6wks after the disaster and they were *essential.* (Lil ol’ me leading the bobcat strike team 👇)

Because why help people?

AmeriCorps — entire agency — put on administrative leave. This has noting to do with efficiency and cost savings. Just slash and burn government to the ground.

Made the Mopac drive home and cracked open a cold one in my @evilmopacatx.bsky.social merch

Ed Martin, Donald Trump’s nominee to be U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C., did not disclose his more than 150 appearances on Russian state TV in a Senate questionnaire ahead of his confirmation hearing.

NEW from @accountablegop.bsky.social: Republicans denounce federal government for targeting those who disagree with the administration. “If we are going to respect the rule of law, the apparatus of the federal government cannot and should not be used as a partisan tool to bludgeon your enemies.”

NEW: The Department of Government Efficiency team is assigning two staffers to work at the independent agency where a whistleblower alleged Tuesday DOGE may have already removed sensitive labor data from its systems, according to an email obtained by @npr.org.

Sorry sorry Just. Sorry. Wait a minute. What in the gorram hell crazy kind of bizarre bullshit is this? Is sniffing paint fumes? Has this man completely lost all touch with reality of any kind?! How is this possible. Am in a parallel universe?

Van Hollen says that he asked the VP of El Salvador why his government continues to hold Abrego Garcia even though he’s not charged with any crime and there’s no evidence that he’s MS-13. “His answer was that the Trump administration is paying the government of El Salvador to keep him at CECOT”

Lmao at “epidemic denial” from the guy who undercut vaccination efforts for influencer points while his wife required proof of vaccination to attend parties at their home — www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021...

💯 They have nothing.

Rubio continues to confirm that he's not the normie, guardrail enforcing, rational member of the Trump 2.0 cabinet some people thought he would be. His transformation to aspiring autocrat has been stunning to watch unfold...

The court transcripts simply include the government's assertions, similar to the ones Bondi is making here. There was no actual evidence presented, because he never had a hearing much less a trial.

Stagnant public health funding, rampant disinformation, and aggressive anti-vaccine advocacy groups fueled this outbreak. Life-saving vaccines could have prevented all of this. 1/2 @tlangford.bsky.social @poojasalhotra.bsky.social @texastribune.org #txlege www.texastribune.org/2025/04/16/t...

Even if you (wrongly) believe that some immigrants lack due process rights, what’s to stop the government from claiming that *you* are an undocumented immigrant; removing you to El Salvador; citing an “administrative error”; and refusing to do anything to bring you back? The answer is due process.

I’m about to board my flight to El Salvador, where I hope to meet with senior government officials to discuss the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. I also hope to see Kilmar and check on his condition — and remind him that we won’t stop fighting until he’s home.

The DC attorney nominee has appeared dozens of times on Russian state media www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...

Marge Taylor went from being worth 800k in 2019, to using Qanon and the weak minded to get herself elected, to now being worth over $20 million dollars. Pretty mind blowing rise, all because people in Georgia elected her to congress. She is the prime example of corruption in Gov’t.

Don't let this sort of thing become normalized. No criminal record. Married with a child. Complying with immigration bureaucracy. Agents wait outside his home. Smash his window while he calls his lawyer. Take him to an undisclosed location. This is Soviet secret police stuff. youtu.be/Bnlj-wSI4Bg

Is it possible to subtweet on live teevee? because...

Steve Kerr wore a Harvard basketball shirt after the Warriors’ win tonight: “Yes, this is me supporting Harvard. Way to go. Way to stand up to the bully.”

A deadbeat jerk “On Thursday, the Journal contacted Musk for comment for this article. On Friday, St. Clair didn’t receive her scheduled child support payment from Musk, she said. Late on Tuesday, she said Musk’s team sent her $20,000, halving her stipend again.”

Pretty rich for a guy thst uses one of his kids as a PR prop and human shield. “Musk believes it is better to resolve these matters behind closed doors for the safety and security of the child.” www.wsj.com/politics/elo...

surely someone is super curious about why attorneys keep getting stopped at the border & having their phones searched

Wait til they find the Signal blabbermouth who posted the military’s attack plans

Kudos to Sen. Chris Van Hollen. You know who surely would have gone as well and made this a bipartisan effort, if he were alive? Sen. John McCain.

brb taking some nourishment

This country is becoming unrecognizable. What we’re seeing is state-funded fear. We’ve warned people: keep filming, go live on social media so these moments are documented and shared. This wasn’t a case involving masked ICE agents—but that’s happening too.

This paragraph literally does not mention that Jackie Robinson was a Black man.

Katy Perry and Lauren Sanchez going to “space” for 10 minutes is supposed to “inspire women” but the women who already worked at NASA are *checks notes* being fired and having their bios removed from the site

Vladeck, actual Constitutional law expert Jennings, MAGA hack I’m gonna stick with @stevevladeck.bsky.social on what due process is.

The symbolism of refusing to release an innocent man being held illegally and possibly subject to torture, during Holy Week, is preeeeetty strong to a lot of believers I imagine.

So, you’re saying that’s not @theonion.com

Maybe it’s because the admin went full Nazi with Noem and huddled human beings together in a pen like cattle.

“Used extensively across sectors — from private industry to national intelligence agencies — the CVE Program provides a standardized framework for identifying vulnerabilities and plays a central role in vulnerability management practices. It was first launched in 1999.”

While hardworking people across the U.S. work to submit their filings by Tax Day, we're suing to keep Elon Musk & the so-called DOGE from accessing your taxpayer information from the IRS. From our CEO @skyeperryman.bsky.social: "DOGE must not be permitted to trample on the American people’s rights"
