So Pete Alonso for CBT purposes counts against the Mets for $27m. Why not sign a 2yr deal with an opt out where you get $30m in year 1 and $1m in year 2. The CBT hit would be $15.5m. Loophole? Obviously that’s drastic but it seems like something teams could exploit.

At a 4yr olds birthday party at Chuck E Cheese at 5:30pm and good lord this is awful. There’s approximately 2.5m people here. I’m uncomfortable.
