Liar is the least of the things I'd call Maher

"The guy abusing immigrants and hurting poor people was nice to me, a rich guy with a TV show."

Here are the steps that would be required for Trump to get this person back: 1. Trump picks up the phone

If El Salvador is an ICC member, is the ICC investigating El Salvador/Bukele for throwing young Salvadoran men into CECOT without charges or trial? That must surely be an international crime??

Trump: I am the strongest, most powerful person ever! The whole world lines up to kiss my ass! Courts: Return Kilmer Abrego Garcia from the El Salvador torture prison you sent him to Trump: Sorry. No can do. Totally out of my hands

this is an unsurprisingly good piece because miles does reliably excellent work and a thing that does not escape my notice is that when @rollingstone.com has conversations about trans people & trans issues, they have them *with* trans people or have trans writers lead them.

Shame on Planned Parenthood of Arizona for dropping their trans patients because of threats from Trump. What happens when they make you stop providing abortions? Birth control? PReP? Gonna roll over then too? These orgs complying are cowardly.

GIGANTIC YELLOW WARNING: we don't serve transsexuals. HAPPY REGULAR WEBSITE: care. no matter what. can't make this shit up man

Whatever the Abrego Garcia Court thought it was doing when it wrote "The District Court should clarify its directive, with due regard for the deference owed to the Executive Branch in the conduct of foreign affairs," this is the result.

Added problem here is Kilmar Abrego Garcia is an El Salvadoran citizen. Unlike the others who were renditioned to CECOT who (the US govt says) are all Venezuelan. It's harder to get him back because El Salvador is his home country. It makes what Trump etc did here heinous & evil on even more levels

Fun fact: If you never vote for Republican bills, you'll never regret voting for a Republican bill www.huffpost.com/entry/jahana...

"Trump administration officials have discussed possibly denaturalizing and deporting activists and other individuals whom they label as having committed so-called 'fraud' on their applications for citizenship by subsequently supporting what Team Trump decides are 'pro-terrorist' causes or groups."

Would love to understand why Carney issuing Canadian treasury bonds in USD made things harder for Trump. Otherwise I actually understood all of this post - which is a surprise to me given maths, sstltock/bonds and economics are definitely not my forte.

It's amazing that 4 congressional Dems voted to make it *illegal for married women to vote*, and the rest of the Dems didn't respond "ok yeah you are not allowed to call yourself a Democrat anymore, we're not going to help fundraise for you, just go fuck yourself"

This headline is an example of Betteridge's Law. The answer is always no.

Can the DOJ just do nothing ad infinitum? What is the remedy here? I hate this

Update: I just listened to the audio of this. Trump: “If the Supreme Court said bring somebody back, I would do that. I respect the Supreme Court.” Reporter: And the lower court as well…? Trump: “Oh no, no. I’m not talking about the lower court. I have great respect for the Supreme Court.”

"GPs told they must refuse to help anorexic children until they start eating" Imagine the uproar. Puberty blockers aren't even illegal or harmful. State ordered discrimination and endangerment. That's all this is.

If the government can “deport” you for having beliefs they don’t like, none of us is free. Call it what you want, but it sure as shit ain’t democracy.

"I put the ‘R’ in the MMR vaccine, and I’m scared that, like measles, rubella could make a comeback under RFK Jr." - Dr. Stanley Plotkin speaks up about the serious harms rubella caused, and the risks Kennedy is bringing back. www.inquirer.com/opinion/comm... via @inquirer.com

Absolute insanity.
