Cypriot Second Division team PO Achyronas-Onisillos have been fined 50k euros for match fixing following information of suspicious betting activity of the team to lose by at least 3 goals vs Digenis Akritas Morphou. Digenis Akritas Morphou scored their 3rd goal in the 93rd minute.

Another example of the extremely tribal nature of supporting a football team in Cyprus... AEL vs. Apollon happened a couple of days ago. The match is traditionally the big Limassol Derby, and fans of the two teams get up to a lot, a lot of trouble.

The Cyprus FA have confirmed the game has been postponed as advised by the police. Along with this the Cyprus Police has also released a statement saying that the game has been postponed after the CFA took it's advice and has informed the National Betting Authority to stop all bets on the game.
