In my cultural diversity class, a white boy just utilized an example of white males feeling the effects of stereotype threat when playing basketball against black men, citing the stereotype that white people are worse at basketball. I am grateful to him for the amusement I got in responding.

When I was first in college, in spite of being a Political Science major with plans for law school, I still struggled to understand the importance of civic participation and knowledge. I poked fun at people who liked it and considered myself “apolitical”. I could vomit thinking about that now.
