I am assuming Darby unless they pivot to someone else and give Darby a crowning moment later

I LOVED starting off with Orange, Jay, and Hangman even if I didn't like the match it turned into. I'm having trouble being sold on the older guy portion of this. I'm always willing to have my mind changed but that's just where I'm at right now. Your outlook is helping me ngl.

Also, just to be clear, I have an overall positive view of AEW and whats going on. I think the main problem for me personally is that what I'm not liking happens to be the center point of the promotion so its making my viewing experience a bit weird week to week.

I have great appreciation for the talent and I mean even in this storyline I don't like, Mox is one of my favorite wrestlers. I don't think there's anything wrong with having multiple challengers at all. To me, it just hasn't felt well done or cohesive with the messaging Mox started off with.

It seems like they're meandering around while Darby is taking his Everest time off. If that's it, while I love him, I don't like that they did this without better laid out filler plans. I would LOVE for it to be a Hangman program instead. Seems like they're starting up something with him again.

Fair point! Its also just a dead end discussion cause at the end of the day, if the people in charge are happy with said numbers then it doesn't matter. I know everything isn't going to be for me on these shows and try to focus on what I like. Feeling how I feel about the DR is an anamoly for me tbh

The Harley interactions with Mercedes & Toni were both hilarious. I'm hoping the interaction with Mercedes means Harley might actually start picking up some wins. A little match with her and Mercedes in Australia could be a fun time.

Really liked Julia vs. Jamie too. I'm assuming whoever wins the rubber match will be the next big feud for Mercedes. Also LOVE the rebrand for HoB and them getting a push. Big fan of Brody and honestly, I think the messaging in that promo rings true.

That's the best example outside of this I can think of. I wouldn't say that one was just certain fans either. Live crowds were not reacting well to Cody's stuff. My point isn't that it hasn't happened at all, just that it hasn't been this bad often.

I try to avoid it because people don't look at it in good faith for the most part online. I think it can tell you a lot when you look at it segment by segment. Looking at the behavior of the people who are watching week to week. I don't get the Jericho thing at all but his name pulls I guess lol.

I did say its not the end all, be all. It is something that the people in the back should be looking at. They don't matter at all to my personal enjoyment but I'm talking about the people running the show, not me.

I think its up to them to decide at the end of the day. So far, they seem committed to seeing it through but crowds have been mostly mute on Deathriders stuff in the past month or so. The TV numbers lately have also dipped during their segments. I don't think thats the end all but it should matter.

I agree with that too! But in that vein, I think its up to the booker to keep their attention. There's too many other things viewers can be watching wrestling wise or otherwise. I stayed interested in the Deathriders story because the beginning was really cool but now it seems directionless.

I like it in a general sense but I still think there should be an overall idea of cohesion. Overall, AEW has avoided feeling samey for its existence but in its best times, there has been a vision. There should also be more people willing to say hey, this kind of sucks when something isn't working.

I think what made those times better before is that there didn't seem to be such a big divide in ideas. Things were different yeah but its a lot more stark at the moment. Maybe because the thing that seems the most out of place is the main event scene.

Having that first hour of the show be as great as it was only to end the show with a lame duck of a storyline is such a buzzkill. I was not out on the Deathriders as soon as others because I expected some kind of rebound given the players but its actually gotten worse.
