Disillusioned American. I have always believed in the inherent good of people but the veil has been lifted from my eyes. So no, I won't be tolerant of people who didn't find racism, sexual assault, fraud and pathological lying disqualifying.

The reason that the US is locking up tourists for weeks in hellish detention centers rather than letting them book tickets back home is because the detention centers are owned by corporations. They are charging the taxpayers fortunes to cage these people, and making bonanzas off their suffering.

I've been struck by the realization that America truly is nothing but an idea propped up by braggadocio. WE are the Emperor without clothing. All it took was one orange-faced MFer to challenge our ideals and a whole bunch of supposed bastions of American Exceptionalism caved. It's astonishing.
