Yeah, the wages stagnating has been a hot topic the past couple years. If you have loans to keep up with it might not be viable. But the cost of living is also cheap here. My rent at the time was less than $500 lol

I did the JET Program back in the day, they paid more than the average income in the prefecture for less hours than most people work. Would recommend to anyone who wants to be in Japan.

Get the JR pass and come to Kyushu! The last couple times I’ve been to Tokyo/Kansai I’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by the amount of tourists, but Kyushu remains a hidden gem. The weather down here is also great in May.
