It’s also wrong. As climate change occurs it will open the north seas to valuable oil reserves. It’s about who controls the last resources on earth as it burns. It’s why he wants Greenland too

the silicon valley capitalists yearning to fight and compete with the chinese by bypassing liberal democracy by doing a demented fun house mirror of China is going to fail spectacularly and make all of us miserable. its all pointless. no new cold wars. we need cooperation to stop the climate crisis

One of the things about all this (and I included Brexit etc) is that as time goes on it becomes harder and harder to fight climate change, and the actions we have to take will become more and more drastic, and instead these shits are wasting that time as well as being monsters

Hackers Can Attack Your Rooftop Solar Panels, With Ease #Energy #Hackers #RenewableEnergy

In 2004, it took the world about a year to add one gigawatt of solar power capacity. By 2023, the same amount was added, on average, every single day. For reference, a gigawatt of solar is enough to power approximately 200,000 homes in the US.

I want lying to have consequences again.

Normally, when I don’t hear back right away from my NOAA colleagues, I just assume that they’re busy. Now I assume that they’ve been fired. 😩

This is not a surprise. We know what causes CO₂ to increase in the atmosphere and we know how to stop climate change. We just don’t want to.

For all youngsters starting smoking: have you ordered a new set of longs yet, it seems that it takes quite some time to receive your order! 😥

Any person/president who values his inflated #ego more than an entire #country is sick and should be treated accordingly. #ukraine

Did you know the most powerful force for climate action is LOVE—for our children, their future, and the world they’ll inherit? That's right! Research shows this message moves hearts 12x more than jobs and 2x more than extreme weather. Source: potentialenergycoalition.org/guides-and-r...

No one alive will experience a better climate than today. But young people will experience a much more dangerous and chaotic world in the future, and the extent to which that happens will depend on our choices today. Trump doesn't care because he's old and a sociopath. www.ipcc.ch/report/ar6/s...

Words of wisdom from @naomioreskes.bsky.social's Science on a Mission.

Harald Sverdrup, one of the most renowned oceanographers ever, was denied security clearance to work for the US government during WW II because a few colleagues accused him of being a Nazi sympathizer. Now we freely expose our secrets to Elon Musk, who gave a Nazi salute seen by millions of people.

Human CLIMATE CHANGE weather is RAVAGING SOUTHERN STATES & KILLING those people that have DIRTY CLIMATE CHANGE DENYING Republican politicians LYING to people in the RED COMMIE/NAZI FASCIST states who those REPUBLICAN politician TRAITORS NEVER REPRESENT! It's ALL ABOUT the $ BRIBES those GOPIGS TAKE

Consider how this scam is identical to "carbon footprint" as it's used to displace action and responsibility for climate change to individual consumers, while a handful of people burn the world to fuel their greed

Richard Tice thinking he knows more about climate change than actual NASA scientists would be hilarious if he wasn't continually given a platform to spout this bollocks and treated like his opinion has any validity. #GetInTheBinDick

Nostalgic for the time of my life when I thought Kentucky wouldn’t be horribly affected by climate change bc we aren’t too north or too south or coastal… instead we have been repeatedly fucked by floods, mudslides, rain, snow, and tornadoes. Stay safe out there y’all 🖤

Lately, I can’t shake the weight of climate change and its impact on our future. Individual actions matter, but we need systemic change too. It’s a tough conversation, but essential. What steps are you all taking to contribute? 🌍💚 #ClimateAction #Sustainability

The weirdest thing just happend. One film on my #laptop has sound via #bluetooth, while a second film could only be heard through the laptop speakers. I thought I undderstood computers, but now I don't.

Thurs., Feb. 13, 2025 This alien-like field of mirrors in the desert was once the future of solar energy. It’s closing after just 11 years tinyurl.com/2ru5c8u9 Who paid for that? :

To fund tax breaks for billionaires, the Trump administration has frozen funds to cut carbon pollution & help communities prepare for more extreme weather caused by climate change, including "wildfire prevention in MT, solar panels in MA, an emergency shelter in MI": www.nytimes.com/2025/02/12/u...

Attn #climate geeks. @microsoft.com is shifting its #sustainability investments as #AI wreaks havoc with its emissions reduction plans.

"The scorching and dry conditions that led to the fires were made about 35% more likely due to human-caused climate change, the researchers concluded. Combined with low rainfall...and dry vegetation to fuel the fires, the risk of fire compounded."

We got a message from the university to remove any use of the "DEI", "diversity", "equity", or "inclusion" from all public-facing documents. They said that even "biodiversity" is being flagged by the federal government. We live in the dumbest timeline.

The extent of sea ice globally is now at an absolute record low level for the entire satellite-era. [Graphics: zacklabe.com/global-sea-i.... Note: the poles are affected by very different Earth system processes/seasonality. I am using 5-day running mean data.]

The lesson here is that Republicans will do anything that make Democrats mad On an unrelated note, I've heard that Democrats get very angry at fighting climate change and giving people healthcare

If the main purpose of a digital currency like #bitcoin is that it protects criminals against governments, I’d say ditch the system.

You may not believe in climate change, but your insurance company does.

SMRs are a luxury we can't afford. Climate change impacts are here and now. Instead of wasting £ billions on toys for boys that will make consultants and lawyers even richer/fatter, those £ billions should go into rapid roll out of renewables, batteries and grid. www.theguardian.com/environment/...
