Dinnertime and still so hot. It was 33 all afternoon here, but when I went into Brantford and parked by the mall, the temp jumped to 36 on my car's thermometer. So much asphalt and concrete makes it unbearable!!! Later, I sat in the park, under the trees, by the river and marveled at the difference.

After weeks of delays (I ordered in April), our new pool liner has been installed. We've missed 2 months of swimming but are pretty excited to have a functioning pool again, soon. First-world, bougie problem — I know. But it's hotter here in Paris ON than in Port-au-Prince or Mombasa right now. 🫠

Just put some good old chicken drumsticks on the barbecue. 30 of them for under $20 at Costco. That's four meals for us! I grilled 8 and used my Costco Foodsaver to package up the rest for freezing. Paired with Costco potato salad and Costco bean salad. No pics because we scarfed it all down. 😅 Yum!

I now have sunglasses that are also bifocal readers 😎 I can read. Outside. I don't have to choose between too bright or too blurry!!!

My sweet 94YO father-in-law fell and broke his hip on Friday. Nurses have taken such good care of him. But he spent 2 days in the ER before they could do surgery on Sunday. Now he is admitted with a bed, in the hallway, just like I was back in November. I wonder how long his hallway stay will be?

I've never heard it before in our neighbourhood, but the sound was unmistakable. Kiddo and I shot out of the house like bats outta hell. He chased it down; I brought the cash. Perfect heatwave adventure 🤣
