Very excited for you @angelasjin.bsky.social and highly recommend anyone looking for coaching to look at what that might look like with you.

Every single time I travel with a neck pillow I feel it makes me look like the bag lady from labyrinth as hangs from my bag. Or the seller in Zelda.

DeepSeek late night conversations. We talked through how creatively because it made connections and hallucinated all be it differently to humans, it could have a mind and therefore need a name. Then it picked one, calling itself Eidolon.

At the start of the year I set myself a challenge to use a camera everyday. I’ve been using my Instamax for the daily shot. It is making me grow back into my camera bag and other rigs. It forces a daily reminder that hobbies matter amongst work.

Sometimes you make a trac ticket not sure someone will join you in the little adventure and then awesome people like @audrasjb.bsky.social join you and you ship fast. It's good to make things better ticket by ticket.

Happy new week to create something. What are you doing this week and how are you also creating it whilst being kind to yourself? Want to share what you are creating? It might be working on a WordPress ticket/feature, a theme or plugin, might be a new app, or even something non-digital.

Aaron is another contributor you could also sponsor and help keep the WordPress project moving along. His work is tireless, and he is truly amazing. He does so much unseen, with a heart of open source. Please consider supporting him this year if you can. Having people like him contributing matters.

There are many contributors to WordPress like me looking for sponsorship. This year consider sponsoring us. My focus today is on design system, clearing old tickets both through triage / commit and extensibility. I also always adore default theme triage and design reviews. github.com/sponsors/kar...

It’s the season to hibernate. Everywhere got a layer of snow today and I’m calling today a snow day with blankets and wood burner.

Experiment today, a WordPress plotter block that creates based on the art of Vera Molnár. Based on the cover block for speed and using presets. Use case for this would be featured headers and image sections. I also brewed a repeating pattern and shape block when learning to do this.

Todays exploring was a block that outputs random and custom harmonograph drawings. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmono.... Will write about this as I iterate more but it’s fun exploring generations like this.

What did you do on your break? Well for me it was the season of tinkering and I wrote about that here: binatethoughts.com/the-season-f.... I am looking forward to more making in the coming year from WordPress themes, plugins to beyond. I have a big goal of making set so time to get brewing.

Default themes are a very particular product making experience and this episode was great to hear. I am looking forward to what other creating conversations @briancoords.com brings to this cast.

I am really looking forward to this hangout. Playground has so much possibility and the hearing from those creating is important. Come join us.

A little update on where my focus is right now. I am going to be offering consultancy through Guildenberg by collaborating with others. A few more updates also right here: binatethoughts.com/focusing-for...

Mid-week check: what are you making this week in #WordPress and #opensource? What product are you brewing or experiment simmering? For those of you making food, that is also a very valid make if you are taking it for your country's holiday.

One secret of #WordPress block themes is that the blocks have light but robust defaults that don't get in the way. This allows you out of the box to place, sprinkle some styling and go. The work to get there needs recognizing so thank you everyone that worked on that unseen but important piece.

I spent my afternoon brewing things up in experimental plugins and evening playing Minecraft. Not a bad way to spend Storm Bert. Bert has meant most trees gave up their last leaves so it’s hunkering and tinkering season.

Oh hey snow. Erm why don’t you settle in.

👋🏻 Hello World? So, what fantastic things are people building over here?
