New years eve Alaska

Happy new year, from Alaska! New years eve northern lights!

Those lights were above both bases and the city of Anchorage. I tried to photograph but couldn't get good photos. This happened 2 nights in a row. 2nd night I was standing there I saw lights approaching me but herd no sound. It turned out to be 1 of ours. It was silent until it passed.

I live in Eagle River Alaska. Next to me is Elmendorf air force base, Fort Rich military base. I am 5 miles from an artillery range. I am used to hearing and seeing things in the area. On 11/28 I took my dogs out at 2am. Looking up I saw dozens of orange lights moving around.They were very high.
