There's just one month to go until my dad's funeral at Arlington National Cemetery. I've been waiting 2 years for this since my dad died in mid-January 2023. Honestly, he defied many medical expectations. He wasn't expected to live more than 1 year since getting end stage renal failure.

I'm trying to simply deactivate my Facebook account, rather than deleting it, but I see no evidence of deactivation. The thing is, I have a corporate job to keep and don't want the incoming administration to insist I be terminated for things on my profile.

The 39 is a reference to Hatsune Miku, Crypton Future Media's most recognozable Vocaloid character. There's a form of Japanese wordplay revolving around numbers. Three can be read as 'mi' or 'san,' while nine can be read as 'k(y)u.' As such, 39 can either be 'miku' or even 'sankyu.'

I should explain my username for the benefit of all who migrated from Facebook and those who are following me for the first time. Kasta is short for Kampfstaffel, or bomber squadron, as opposed to Jagdstaffel (or Jasta) which is a fighter squadron. I'll finish it up in the next post.
