My (Kate’s) kids both have 504s. They have dyslexia. These accommodations help kids who think differently participate better in class. They make a world of a difference and are vital for so many. #education #kidlit #dyslexia #neurodiversity

My latest (16th) book, QUIET IS STRENGTH is out now! It is a perfect book to take a break with from our busy, loud lives. Written by Mary Rand Hess, from Rocky Pond Books.🦋🦋🦋 #kidlit #picturebook #quietisstrength #quietly #nature #beauty 🦋🦋🦋 #kidlit #picturebook #nature #beauty

To spite the slow dismantling of our republic - it's not an actual democracy - I wanted to post something positive: Congrats to all who are getting agents, book deals, starred reviews, awards, and making great DIVERSE and INTERSECTIONAL BOOKS for children. #Kidlit #Kidlitcommunity #DiverseBooks

Okay, pals. Time for action this month. We're going to do that by funding classrooms that are specifically seeking out Black history books. These classrooms are those that are in historically underfunded communities. These asks are from teachers whose students benefit directly.

Hey! Do you prefer your books in paperback form? Do you like birds and stories of scrappy scientists figuring stuff out? My really fun book comes out in paperback on March 18 (and you can preorder the paperback edition now)! 🪶 bookshop.org/p/books/flig...

My daughter is really into graphic novels. She makes her own, but could use some guidance. Are there any online classes for teens that are after school? Any recommendations are welcome. #graphicnovels #kidlit #writingcommunity

Oh boy, do we feel this

Good news!

From a student self-assessment. Shared here with permission. I don't want to give in to pessimism, but she's not wrong, is she?

There are two booksellers in Denver in need of help! Joanne & Denie have worked at @hermitagebooks for decades, and they experienced a home invasion where Joanne was shot & is now paralyzed. If you are a book lover, please donate to their GoFundMe! www.gofundme.com/f/rally-for-...

We have a book deal! Thanks to @sarahnfisk.bsky.social and Little, Brown Children’s. #kidlit #writingcommunity #library

This is my (Kate’s) cat, eyes closed enjoying the sunshine. You can’t tell from the photo, but his tail is flicking. #kidlit #cats

My (Kate’s) 11yr old loves narrative non-fiction. We’ve recently read the Disappearing Spoon (and other Sam Kean). He’s a strong reader, but the content can’t be too graphic. Any recommendations? #booksky #kidlit
