Anti-social behaviour is one of the top issues constituents raise with me incl shop lifting & off road bikes. Labour is acting to bring our town centres back into control &make our communities safer with our Crime and Policing Bill. Together we will make our communities safer.

Our Labour Govt said it would put an end to polluting for profit & ban bonuses for water bosses who pollute our rivers, lakes and seas. That’s exactly what we’re doing

It's always a pleasure showing off my brilliant Jarrow & Gateshead East constituency I was joined recently by @lloydrussellmoyle.bsky.social & gave him a tour of the Ellen Wilkinson display in Jarra Town Hall, took him to see The Spirit of Jarrow, the Boldon Banner & of course the Viking Centre!

It was a pleasure to partake in this event last week to mark LGBTQI+ history month. The rollback of LGBTQI+ rights around the world has clear implications for the health of our democracy and security. We must seek to dismantle these transnational networks of hate. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

More survey cards have been dropping through letterboxes across the constituency📮 Keep an eye out for one coming through your door and have your say on local and national priorities! You can also complete it online via buff.ly/3EQ1hqF

Great to meet with Space North East England in Parliament to hear how they are working with businesses, academia and institutions to unlock the opportunities within the space sector in our region.

Today is #NationalLoveYourPetDay My team and I love our pets all year round - pets are part of the family and are proven to reduce stress and provide companionship! Share your favourite photos of your pets in the replies👇👇

Great to see members of Youth Parliament from around the region earlier this month, they had a brilliant debate at the Town Hall in Shields - it's encouraging to see our young people taking an interest in politics. Lovely to chat to our MYP Yacub & meet Momna from Jarra - our very own Jarra Rebel ✊

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in women, yet it is often misdiagnosed or overlooked, with symptoms attributed to stress, anxiety, or menopause. I was pleased to join the #ListeningSavesLives event in Parl raising awareness of heart disease & life-changing treatments.

Politics North at 10: Should businesses be made to take cash? Brexit red tape hitting exporters - can “reset” help? Is transport investment coming or are we facing more disappointment? With @kateosbornemp.bsky.social #bbcpoliticsnorth, Jonathan Dulston, @matthewsnedker.bsky.social #bbcpoliticsnorth

After a busy morning out on the doorstep this afternoon we have been on the doorstep in Hebburn and now at Hebburn FC, talking to people about the need to make work pay and supporting my local team. Great Saturday so far!

Out in the Felling this morning speaking to residents and distributing my community surveys! Thanks to everyone who helped get the survey out & those who stopped to speak to me and the team about casework issues, campaign issues & local priorities!

Our LGBTQ community will not be silenced, we will not be erased, we will not be pushed back in the closet and our history will be celebrated. By standing together, advocating for change, and supporting organisations that champion LGBTQ+ rights, we can create a more inclusive and just world for all.

Infant formula isn’t a choice – it’s a necessity for many. I was pleased to attend the Formula for Change event in Parliament, with 1 in 4 mothers struggling to afford formula & the lowest cost formula increasing by 45% - its vital work is done to improve accessibility and affordability of formula.

Our Labour Govt is making work pay. We are delivering for working people with our plan for change & Employment Bill with 72% of UK voters are in favour of banning zero hour contracts. Under this Govt workers will be in more secure employment and better working conditions.

We must always speak out when it comes to equalities & human rights. Solidarity Jade Thirlwall & thank you for consistently speaking out for the LGBTQ+ community 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ This is what an ally looks like 👇

Great to meet Lucy in who has secured an apprenticeship with Rolls Royce - pleased to hear that she is doing well and loving her role! It's #NationalApprenticeWeek so keep an eye out for opportunities to start an apprenticeship journey

Today is #SaferInternetDay - it's important that we recognise both the benefits of the internet as well as the risks it poses. As an MP I regularly receive online abuse so I know how draining it can be. @samaritans.bsky.social have helpful tips on how to manage your feed & take care online 👇

Thanks to all who came along to the LGBTQ+ History Month reception last night cohosted by @appghiv.bsky.social BGIPU @eltonjohnaidsfoundation.org & Dr Frank Mugisha We've come along way in LGBTQ+ rights but with hatred on the rise, we must do more & stand up for our rights & the LGBTQ+ community.

I am proud of Labour's New Deal for Working People which works with unions to strengthen protections at work. This #HeartUnionsWeek I want to thank our unions, members and reps for the vital work they do every day standing up for people's rights and for better workplaces. #JoinAUnion #MakeWorkPay

“Let’s continue the fight for equality and human rights” @kateosbornemp.bsky.social opens the @ipuparliament.bsky.social #LGBTQIAHistoryMonth reception this evening. She tells the Parliamentary reception “we must not lose hope as collective efforts will make a difference”.

Today our Labour Government has announced our latest steps to allow leaseholders across the country to take control of their buildings more easily and cheaply. #PlanForChange

Our Labour Govt has already made the historic decision to end the injustice of the Miners Pension scheme but there is still work to be done. 👇

Our Labour Govt is calling for evidence to shape our National Cancer Plan to transform cancer care by improving research, diagnosis, screening, treatment and prevention. World leading AI will transform breast cancer care & this research is vital in early detection & saving lives

Violence against women and girls must be tackled & NAO report is damning. Years of failures by previous Governments to implement VAWG strategies has left women & girls vulnerable to abuse. That is why @UKLabour is committed to treating VAWG as the national emergency that it is.

As someone who used to foster, I was pleased to attend the Coram event in Parliament tonight. This great charity has been vital in getting young voices heard and advocating for the rights of children and young people in and leaving care.

Great to drop into Windy Nook Methodist Church at the weekend for their popular Coffee Morning, which runs on the first Saturday each month (10.30-12). Coffee mornings are a good way to meet new people & it was nice to speak to David and others, and I will be back to visit the girls' brigade soon.

I called into K9 Room Day Care for Dogs’ open day yesterday and had another look around their brilliant facilities - good to catch up with one of the owners Abby & meet Ozzy & Arlo 🐕

Great to meet Bev at the new Forces Support Jarrow charity shop in the Viking Centre. They do fantastic work supporting families & dependants of service personnel who've lost their lives serving in the British Armed Forces. Please do call in & if you're able to volunteer ask for Chris or Bev

Visited our beautiful new Mosaic in #Hebburn this morning and I was privileged to be able to have a chat with Svetlana the artist. #TheCulturalspring Make sure you go and check it out!

It's LGBT+ History Month and this years theme, Activism and Social Change, is more important than ever Social change for equality and fairness will not be achieved through corporations but through our own activism. Solidarity with my LGBTQIA family & activists who are fighting for a better society

Really pleased to meet with Ambassador of Switzerland Mr Markus Leitner to discuss all things football & the Women's Euros taking place this year as well as a detailed discussion ranging from immigration to workers rights Looking forward to watching our Lionesses defend their title this summer

A good Hebburn Town Partnership meeting last night. Pleased to hear from local business owners & employees that the level of ASB has started to decrease leading to a safer environment in the town centre🙏 Lots of discussion about future events and improvements

A very busy street surgery in the Monkton Ward yday Lots of casework picked up including environmental health, potholes, overgrown trees, housing repairs & ASB. I’ll be actioning all queries & continue working hard to support all Jarrow & GE constituents!

I am really enjoying my street surgeries and I’m increasing their frequency, meaning you will see me and my office in your local area even more often. If you can’t wait for me to knock on the door then you can also fill in the form via my website www.kate-osborne.co.uk/ward-community-survey

Wishing East and Southeast Asian communities in Jarrow and Gateshead East, across the UK and around the world a very Happy Lunar New Year.

I am proud of our Employment Bill - it will benefit millions by reshaping the workplace and enhancing workers’ rights Like our Prime Minister said, this Bill will give people dignity and protection at work It will be the biggest upgrade to workers rights in a generation #PMQs
