Yeah; what he said.

I’m going to get some food and household supplies today, gas tomorrow, and I’m adding these two things to my personal Friday boycott: 1. delete meta accounts, and 2. stream NOTHING. (Stay offline as much as possible)

The question I am really struggling with right now is: What is "law & order" and the entire American constitutional order *for* if it isn't a Go Directly to Jail card for guys like Donald Trump and Elon Musk for doing *exactly* what they're doing right now?

Don’t forget the small farmers who sell to SNAP recipients. This is going to ripple into a complete catastrophe.

So, literature major over here… Can one of you civics scholars tell me, is there any kind of ‘recall’ or other procedure to unseat reps who actively choose not to engage with their constituents? Asking for 300 million friends.

What actually is the point of our ‘representatives’?

Bluesky didn’t get my announcement last week. Henceforth, I will renounce the use of the word “unprecedented.” I will instead unilaterally substitute the word “horseshit.” Try it for yourself. You’ll thank me. 🐴💩 #academic #humor #language #wordnerd

It’s crazy. I’ve struggled to move up in each job I’ve had because I don’t play nice. Watching from the side, as these orgs/univs outright jump the line to comply with these orders BEFORE they’ve been upheld by a judge… is just surreal. The academy is ripe with system-upholding yes-men.

Guys, these people don’t exist. You can’t be a scholar and also deny truths. It’s not a thing.

Absolutely not. This is fascism.

“The magic is only in what books say, how they stitched patches of the universe together in one garment.” (Faber to Montag, Fahrenheit 451)

Who are the people, in leadership roles in our country, who will stand in the way rather than throw their hands up and stand down??

Well, who’d have thunk?

They know how to handle this shit.

Yeah… we knew. His lexicon is quite limited, and his comprehension skills are 😬

💙🐈🐈‍⬛💙 Elon had to get people who at the end of the day are disposable. All of these guys should be shut down personally and professionally.

Every time I say it people push back but- Republican voters vote that way because they believe things that aren’t true. They are not responding to real problems and cannot be reached by nuanced critique

In the press conference where Trump declared he the right to overrule Congress at his whim

“Screaming. A million mouths screaming but also laughing the sky will bleed and there shall be a great flensing a burning away of the flesh it is coming there is no way to stop what is coming.”

Can you call yourself a ‘news’ outlet if you offer soft journalism via middle-ground diction? The word-choice when talking about these kkkooky fascists…🙄 Get a backbone NPR! #nprnews #americanfascism #tellthetruth

If you didn’t already stop shopping at Target years ago… here’s a good reason to let you money do the talking. #racism #thegreatwhiteslight

I am so glad my 8th grade teacher, Mrs. Fettner, taught me about tyranny and the precarious relationship between absolute power and oppressive regimes. #resisttyranny #usa #whatnow? Read more ia804705.us.archive.org/10/items/on-...

So- rather than affect any change to improve the lives of citizens, this administration will waste taxpayers money and government time on a ridiculous display of “whose country is it anyway” (the rules are made up & the points don’t matter)

Federal employees received emails Wednesday warning that they could face repercussions if they did not report on coworkers who work in diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility positions that might have gone unnoticed by government supervisors.

Is everyone else as floored as I am by the immediacy with which the 2.0 administration is causing grief, turbulence, and upheaval? It’s almost like they had a plan, or playbook of some sort, ready to hit the ground running…. If only someone had warned us! #news #project2025 Why did Harris concede?

Amazing!! This term, I had a student research misperceptions of transgender people in media for their independent research project. I am excited to see this!!!

Ready for vacations? #AcademicSky

I keep thinking how cyclical most human experiences are. And I feel drawn to review some of the most notable observations about political “discourse”, if we can still call it that. bioinfo.uib.es/~joemiro/Rec...

I read this post by @mraleosays.bsky.social going into this week of school—starting a novel in one class, poetry in another—and has pushed me (in the best of ways) to center "doing English" as much as I possibly can. This matters a lot. substack.com/home/post/p-...

We need to keep talking about how weird it is for people to think they should have a say in reading choices for anyone's kids but their own. You're not in charge of what other people's children eat or wear or when they go to bed. Why on earth would you get to choose what they read?

Neurodivergence is so fascinating scientifically because on the one hand you have endless bullshit from quacks who think autism is when a child acts like Spock, and then on the other you have mind blowing results like "oh by the way autism is correlated with connective tissue disorders"

Sometimes when I want to journal my weird lil guy, Edgar Allen Purr, offers to edit. #catsky Everybody’s a critic🙄
