I'd love to say it's all kale salad and açai bowls, but..... Sometimes my strategy before night shift is to sink two beers and some antihistamines and sleep like a hibernating badger.

Music helps me process days like today, here's a list of songs I've been listening to, suggestions welcome. open.spotify.com/playlist/1sv...

When I develop dementia, 77% by The Herd is the song that will drop me back into lucidity. And I love idea of 90 year old me yelling "these cunts need a shake up" through the halls of the aged care facility.

I mostly Bleet about bikes but here's a pic of work the other day where I got the opportunity to lie on some grass in my lunch break. Doesn't happen often so I was extremely happy.

Seriously though, f*ck Murdoch.

I had an absurdly good holiday in Adelaide. Food, wine, sports, nature, art, architecture. It really is the jewel in Australia's crown.

Pickle, pastes and preserves yesterday. I'm still sporting my "jaundice tips" even after several scrubs, and the perils of phone internet recipes mean my phone case will need a day in the sun too. Worth it for the vinegary goodness.

Managed to get four excellent midwives all not on shift and into Drag Brunch.

Normalise carrying a tiny bottle of malt vinegar in your handbag. Just in case you come across some chips and you're not in England.

I will additionally say that many of these groups are snake pits of average information but many mums (and parents that aren't mums) rely on them as a source of connection to the outside world in the long days with tiny people.

Wahhhhh me and my wild midwife schedule disqualifying me from clinical trials 😭 Shoutout to UniSC clinical trials for being awesome about it though.

For the midwives but also anyone who has ever been born. The emergence of increased freebirths, a movement that I wholly understand in the context of birth trauma and a broken system, but which warrants investigation and support. www.abc.net.au/news/2024-11...
