January should have its joys! Mine is my annual package of Braunschweiger -- aka liver sausage. The stuff is nutritional poison. 2 ounces has 20% of the RDA of fat, 38% cholesterol, 20% sodium. But oh the joy! One a year!

We had a weekend plan! Sunday morning, church, then around the Olympic Peninsula. Then power went out. It is 22 degrees outside and the sole source of heat is now the fireplace which doesn't self-stoke. Not a good idea to leave. So we settled down to enjoy the fire. Yeah toasty toes!
