Washington state is once again suing the Trump administration, this time over the president's order targeting medical care for transgender youth.

After three years on the wait list, Children’s canceled the 16-year-old's surgery hours before it was scheduled. "Losing eligibility would jeopardize care for our patients across the region," Children’s explained.

"Birthright citizenship is a fundamental right," U.S. District Judge John Coughenour said. "We are all citizens subject to the rule of law."

BREAKING: A federal judge in Seattle is the second to grant a preliminary injunction against President Donald Trump’s order to end birthright citizenship. The injunction keeps the order on hold nationwide while legal questions are resolved. Story for @kuow.org coming shortly.

UPDATE: Trump said he and Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu talked Tuesday about relocating Palestinians and leveling Gaza, which he suggested could be the “Riviera of the Middle East” under U.S. ownership.
