Every day we do little things that help us be us (that’s be well, take care of ourself so we can care for others)…but we don’t really share what we do in these moments. When we share we actually help others who need help to do exactly this. Will you share what you do? padlet.com/hello2690/ev...

Today we are inspired by @katiedigc.bsky.social for #citizenwellbeingscientist micro-moments of #selfcare Intentionally seeking and amplifying hope-generating content #hope #hopescrolling www.citizenwellbeingscientist.com/blog/3-minut...

Because the second we talk to students about consent for data like we do about sex or drug consent, schools will have to offer them opt outs. And for some reason schools refuse to, or talk about digital footprint when schools share more than students do

Kate Highfield sharing about tech for children from when she was a child - analogue, not online, not tracking. Now children have a digital footprint as soon as they are born. Parents post full name, date of birth, and place of birth on social media! #CSET2025

Please respect my emotional state by not using "2025" in any communications as this reminder of the inexorable passage of time is considered a microaggression. Thank you

I wrote a blog post about hope in #EdTech as part of #CSET2025, with the excellent example of the #CitizenWellbeingScientist program from @rellypops.bsky.social as one of the things that brings me joy and hope. Have a look: telt.weblogs.anu.edu.au/cset2025-top...

Today's tech truthiness:

As an educator I find it really valuable being able to support a student (or colleague) in a mental health crisis. It may not be within my ‘pay grade’, but I’d rather have these skills than not. #AcademicSky #MentalHealth

This was really quite excellent on how we deal with so-called AI in education.

The Indigenous People of North America have decided to go back to calling the Gulf of Mexico, “Chalchiuhtlicueyecatl”. It is what the Nahuatl People originally called it as it is the domain of the goddess Chalchiuhtlicue, who is assoc w/water bodies, including the Gulf of Mexico.

Noticing. Observing. Cultivating non-judgmental awareness and presence. That’s our micro-moment #selfcare tools for today www.citizenwellbeingscientist.com/blog/3-minut...

Once more for the MagicSchool AI crowd and anybody else using narratives of magic to sell AI to school admin, teachers, and students: “We are doing this because AI is not magic. Behind every algorithm are thousands of hidden workers labelling, training & moderating data under precarious conditions.”

This is next week! Register to join us in Canberra! #CSET2025 #cbr

I wrote this bit that is entirely unrelated to current things

"A self-own was embedded within the ad too; Google seemed to boast that its ideal customers are people unable to write or think for themselves." #NihilismAndTechnology

This is very good. I’m always torn between making all universities part of a federal, comprehensive system, and turning them into Co-operatives. I do know that what we have now is the worst of all worlds.

Today we have a focused practice for maintaining #boundaries particularly when feeling the pull to say yes…& let’s face it, this is something many of us are pondering, I know I am, and being kind to ourself and holding self-compassion is a biggy. www.citizenwellbeingscientist.com/blog/3-minut...

Shocking revelations in today's Illawarra Mercury that Uni of Wollongong's interim Vice-Chancellor John Dewar has continued working for consultancy firm KordaMentha during his tenure, despite UOW saying he had been on unpaid leave from the company. Thread. @nteunion.bsky.social

Yesterday I made the point that though the horrors persist, so too must the little joys. Tell me about your little joys today, please. I made brownies with a chocolate chip cookie base yesterday, and when my husband makes our second coffees, I’m going to have one while the baby naps.

So, no fundamental change from any other LLM, then.
