SCHRIER: Have you ever treated measles? RFK JR: No SCHRIER: Well I have. Let me tell you how miserable these kids is. The great thing is there's a vaccine to prevent it ... they only work if you actually give them

Is it too late to give Sacha Baron Cohen an Oscar for this? Not a damn lie told. 🇺🇸

I’m a rare sleep talker and walker, but when I do I really go for it. Years ago I stood at the foot of the bed, ripped the covers off my boyfriend (now husband) and told him, “the little boy in the living room is cold.”

I still don't know how these ruling class chuds think they're going to make any money after they've killed the middle class. it's not like selling each other yachts is going to do anything other than break even.

I’ve probably lost my mind, but honestly, I would love to go up against Charlie Kirk. His arguments are so weak. Send this guy back to kindergarten. He didn’t learn anything.

Juneteenth is the perfect moment to remind everyone of two facts: 1. Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. 2. Those who prevent history from being taught are plotting to repeat it. Read this out loud. Read it again. Then teach it to your kids.

Daughter just got some pet hermit crabs, so time to reshare this oldie.

"ChatGPT users had the lowest brain engagement and “consistently underperformed at neural, linguistic, and behavioral levels.”" I've long suspected people who want to rely on ChatGPT for creative stuff just don't want to use their brains. Turns out, indeed they do not. time.com/7295195/ai-c...

NASA creates many technologies, but occasionally it gets credit for something it only popularizes. Swiss electrical engineer George de Mestral was born #OTD in 1907. He got the idea for ✨Velcro✨ in 1941, after seeing prickly seeds stick to his dog’s fur during a walk in the Alps. 🧪

For those who asked: this article is now temporarily open access for everyone.

I spoke with Jade Hindmon, host of @kpbssandiego.bsky.social Midday Edition, about the consequences of the current administration’s cuts to science funding. Please share to help spread the word and raise awareness. www.kpbs.org/podcasts/kpb...

The most inspiring chapters in our nation's history came when Americans faced down some of our country's darkest demons. Those moments, like our own, were difficult to live through but also brought the chance to bring out the best in us, with enduring consequences.

Remember when we all used to post our Wordle stats? Well today my standard first guess was the word. So I’m sharing some green squares with you. Wordle 1,453 1/6 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

What’s your favorite old timey wisdom? Mine is “even a broken clock is right twice a day.”

That tens of billions of dollars in funding, people’s jobs, and the general safety of everyone in the country is tied up in a personal spat between too maladjusted rich guys is a sign that the United States has already failed. We were supposed to have a government that wasn’t susceptible to this.

lolololol

I'm not sure why I created my alter ego "Beatrice the Biologist" when I could have been "Katie the Science Lady."

we live in one of the most painfully funny moments of an industry bungling a large scale product rollout

At a BBQ, a harvestman daddy long leg crawled on by, and my daughter and her friend were afraid of it. I picked it up, let it crawl on my hands and arms to show them how cute it is. They gleefully held it for a few minutes before we released it in some shrubbery. Now my daughter wants one as a pet.

Ugh, someone sent me an invite to a FB group so I went ahead and logged into facebook and OH GOD MY EYES ARE BLEEDING. What a horrible place. Make it go away.

Should be more conversation about how the project 2025 folks orchestrating the destruction of U.S. science- Russell Vought, for example, are evangelicals who have long seen science as a threat to the dominion of the Church. They are creationists, and now they control the budget.

The new GOP slogan (thank you, Joni Ernst.)

There are literally no words for how incredibly devastating this is and it’s only been 5 months.

Millennial parent here. It’s pretty easy to raise a kid without abusing them… But sure, if that seems too hard, parenting might not be for you.

Remember folks, the movie Idiocracy was actually about how bad society got after we outsourced our thinking to AI. But anyway, be sure to drink your Brawndo. S'got electrolytes.

It was especially interesting bc my camping attire consists entirely of @aaas.org t-shirts. 😬

I wound up across the campfire from someone who said he hated Trump's personality, but loves what he's doing "to make government smaller." I said I'd never forgive what he's doing to destroy science. In reply, he shared his disdain for universities and indirect costs. It was surreal.

I'm Dr. Annie Andrews. I’m a pediatrician, not a politician. But either way I know how to handle people who are full of sh*t. Today I am announcing my campaign for US Senate to replace Lindsey Graham. Share this if you're with me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8wM...

I dunno I don’t think the devil needs this many advocates

A nice interruption to my doomscrolling. These projects sound incredibly cool.
