I think what is really jarring about the capitol bathroom ban, is that DC is one of the most trans-inclusive cities in the world. It has the highest trans population in the United States. Every business is trans friendly in bathrooms. McBride can use the women's bathroom anywhere BUT the capitol.

Pay close attention to the celebrities & politicians who're instantly pivoting towards throwing trans folk under the bus or casually suggest ignoring marginalized plights. They never cared about you -- they care about power, who has it, how *they* benefit, and how they can be seen in parallel to it.

Indeed. When they rounded up the Japanese Americans, myself and my family included, for internment during WWII out of fear over Japanese spies and saboteurs, two thirds of us were U.S. citizens. Don’t think it won’t happen again when they come for the “undocumented.”
