Yes.

I’m so, so worried that it’s already too late.

I think 15-20 years is optimistic. Regardless, the fight back will require sustained and unrelenting effort.

“Welcome home.”

Informative thread providing important context for Trump’s use of the pardon power.

Scenes from a commencement: With one word—“Welcome”—Harvard President Alan Garber drew a loud ovation from 30,000 graduating students, parents, alumni and others. When he welcomed “students from around the world, just as it should be,” the applause was thunderous.

There are 7,591 words in the U.S. Constitution. Not one is "bible", "Jesus", "Judeo", "Christian" or "God". Separation of church and state guarantees ALL Americans the right to practice ANY religion. Or none. Which part of "religious freedom" is not as clear as a church bell?

The H-2A visa program is a lifeline for U.S. agriculture — filling critical labor gaps and making it possible for American farms to grow much of our fruits, vegetables and nuts on U.S. soil. But as federal immigration policies change rapidly, farmers and workers are uncertain about their future.

Four experts on public education in the US spoke to The Nation about how the dismantling of the Department of Education will hurt students immediately and in the years to come. "It means a less educated future, which seems to be the point here."

WTF

Why hasn’t Pete Hegseth been removed from office?

This is such an important point from Sherrilyn Ifill. I would also note that it wouldn’t surprise me if the Bluesky bashing were part of a concerted, manufactured campaign by the right to undermine this platform.

If empathy is a sin, then sin unrepentantly.

This is a very good list.

Donald Trump accepted a $400 million luxury jet from Qatar, one of the biggest financial supporters of the Hamas terrorist regime, reserved for his personal use after he leaves office - and everyone's just going to forget about it by next week.

Oh for the good old days when every editorial board in America LOUDLY demanded the Clintons shut down their charitable organization for fear it would be used to curry favor w/Hillary if she became President 🙃

Buried in the "Big, Beautiful Bill" is a provision that would severely restrict courts’ ability to hold government officials in contempt for violating court orders. This is a clear attempt to shield the Trump admin from accountability. It must not stand.

This makes me so sad, but I also appreciate the clear-eyed assessment by the University of Iceland and hope that others follow suit.

Just awful.

Great. This news comes as (1) U.S. govt health communication is sputtering; (2) Trump/RFK fools are running the U.S. health agencies; (3) FDA says COVID vaccines will no longer be available for most folks under 65, and (4) Moderna is pulling the application for its new two-in-one flu/COVID vaccine.

With @swin24.bsky.social, I took a tour through Trump's gobsmacking campaign to make the world safe for corruption:

If you do in fact want Covid boosters for yourself or anyone, you can submit public comment to the FDA here: www.regulations.gov/commenton/FD...

Not getting much attention, except in a recent NYTimes story, is a provision to increase the tax on university endowments and those of other nonprofits.

I’m sad and embarrassed that the United States isn’t part of this.

Must read thread here. If it’s not obvious already that the regime has no intention of abiding by the law, this should disavow you of any such notion. They are attempting to remove a key power of the judiciary to enforce the law. This is beyond outrageous. Laws for you but not for me.

As I was saying…

This should be the end of Noem’s career in public life. It almost certainly won’t be, however, which is itself damning.

#Corruption would explain these votes.

Dangerous attack on judiciary.
