My godmother is a tiny Sicilian lady, and let me tell you: NO ONE holds a grudge like a tiny Sicilian woman, was me how she STILL held a grudge against a friend who cheated with her (my godmother's) bf... This was 50-60 years ago.

I would've been down for this if it'd been actually AT ALL brought up in the original. Leaving his paternity as is would've still been great because of his respect and desire to emulate Maximus that was obvious in the original.
