The FY 2025 budget for NOAA was 6.6b$. This was approx 0.09% of the federal budget. The better we can predict and plan, the more damage we can mitigate. Hurricane Helene caused 78b $ in damages. For my part- I'd rather pay the taxes for research and prevention.
