Why is that now that I'm doing regularly DMing a game of #DnD that I want to sit down and get back into painting my miniatures? Why is my brain wired like a rat's nest?

Rerecorded a song from Volume Three I've always been unhappy with this weekend, which included rewriting the 3rd guitar part. Now it's just a matter of mixing it. I also started the sequel to the first novel I wrote & I'm 10 pages in. It includes a high-level recap that I'm getting to be OK with.

Dial Tone was my favorite GI Joe figure. He was the hero of any story I told. Not sure why, but there it is.

The bassist in a band playing a song at the Grammys is playing an SX bass. That’s badass.

I've started writing the sequel to my first novel I completed last year. I've hit my first stumbling block in trying to catch the reader up on the main characters and summarize what happened in the previous book. I'm not discouraged though. I'm actually enjoying trying to how to best approach this.

I'm pretty certain I have a minor concussion from the tailgate of our SUV coming down on my head. My wife and daughter are saying I'm slurring my speech, I have a pretty good headache, and a metallic taste. Not too worried, but my wife says if I don't get better, she won't let me go to sleep.

I posted about picking up a beat up 2003 Taylor 410. Here’s the visual tour I made for a friend of mine. I picked up an Audio Technica AT4050 yesterday and recorded a quick sketch recording in tandem with my pair of Rode NT5s. I need to do something more formal though. It sounds good to my ears.

Traded into a beat up 2003 Taylor 410. I've found that I prefer the sound of a mic'd up acoustic, so no pickup is OK by me. Previous owner said the original owner toured w/ it & it shows. However, he was upfront about some checking & repairs its had. That's mojo, right? 1/3

Tweaked the bass line for "Corrective Measures" using an Ampeg SVT profile and recorded it. It's sounding good on my monitors, so now comes the Air Pod and Car Stereo test. If that sounds good, then it will move on to tweaking Ozone & whatever else I throw on the master bus. I'm excited!

When I talk to our kid about kindness, compassion, & empathy, I talk about it being the right thing to do because it betters those around us. There’s too much of the “fuck you, I got mine” from some who claim to be “salt of the earth”, but one can’t be that if they poison the world around them

Ate BBQ at the Hutchins BBQ in Trophy Club (no, I don't care about the whole drama behind the name). They have this Texas Twinkie that's a bacon-wrapped jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese and brisket. It's a little heavy on the cream cheese (as most versions of this are), but, damn, it's good.

Just had a great conversation about amps with one of the dudes behind Allen Amps. He raised a point about folks trashing others buying a lower price point tube amp & saying, "That amp's trash. You need to spend X to get something good." That's hot garbage. Buy what you can afford & enjoy it.

I re-recorded one of my favorite songs I released, “corrective measures”, today using my Kemper. Track has 4 parts, & I used 4 guitars + amp models. It needs some cleaning up & maybe a redo or two, but I made a couple of changes I’ve been wanting to. Man, that felt really good to get done!

One of the hardest part of being a parent is letting a kid make a choice (a haircut) you disagree with and have a feeling they will regret. In the grand scheme of things, a) it’s just hair and b) sometimes regret sucks and it’s in their interest to experience that.

I think playing a Kemper has ruined me. It took me a few moments to feel like my two tube amps sounded “normal”. Well, it might likely be the FRFR cab, but still…didn’t expect that. That’s been an excellent purchase.

I was in a band from ‘99-‘00 w/ good friends. I’ve held onto some of the songs from that band, but they’ve changed in significant ways. In 2025, I plan to record the 6 that survived & 2 that’ve been revived & are going through changes. I hope to involve the other members in production & writing.🤞

Slight change up. Went the Kemper route & added a Line 6 Powercab+ for now. It’s been a week of going through rig profiles for the Kemper. I have a handful I really like so far, but many more to go Moved the Vox to my friends’ house & my kid now gets the Friedman PT-20. The JVM1-h is getting sold.

I was the top artist on Spotify for 5 people. What? That is so incredibly amazing to find out. I have no idea who they are but I wish I could meet them and have a conversation with them. There are a lot of artists out there and to have me be their #1? That’s truly awesome.

Sold my 3D printing stuff to a friend & rearranged my music shelf. • Friedman PT-20 & Marshall JVM-1h will share the Friedman cab • Fender Rumble Studio 40 moved to shelf. It’s controlled via app so no controls = OK • Maz 18 & handwired AC15 didn’t change spots Needs some cable management

Turned on my Friedman PT20 v2 today for the first time in a while. Played around and said to myself, “damn, that amp sounds good”. It’s the “dry” amp vs. the Maz 18 that gets fed all the pedals. Such a pure sound…both clean & drive.

I have no idea what I’m going to get my wife for Christmas. I mean, I have a couple of ideas, but I love surprising her with something she didn’t expect but makes use of. Coffee and chocolate is a given, but WHAT to get? Now that is the question.

Another post from Threads I recently had the chance to upgrade my Line 6 HX One to an HX Effects. This contains most, if not all, of the effects from the Helix, but no amp/cab models. I love this thing. Sure, you have to tweak things, but HX edit makes that easy enough. The KWB drive = ❤️, IMHO.

I posted this on Threads but figured I’d share it here. I bought a replica of the Dave Grohl DG335. I replaced the tuners w/ some Gotohs from an MIJ Squier, and my friend and I (99% him) are going to soup it up. It has flaws but I haven’t been this excited about a guitar in a while. More to come.

I finished what I hope is my final rewrite for the first novel in a short series. I set the goal of finishing it on my birthday and that happened last night, in the final hour of it. Whether it goes anywhere or not, I feel a wonderful sense of accomplishment. Best part? I enjoy reading it.

I found someone who’s offered to edit my novel. I’m trying to steam through fleshing out the last few chapters I recently wrote so I can have a true v1 of it. I’ve started looking into self-publishing as well. Talk about an overwhelming bit of information, but it’s exciting.

Where are the #guitar and #musician posters at so I can help set up my algorithm. Took walking away from threads for a bit before that happened and now it’s as much politics as it is music. It’s very relevant but not always what I want to get into the weeds about.

1st post. I snagged my username without a _ which is a rare occurrence. Can’t wait to see how BlueSky works.
