History buffs will know that every authoritarian leader eventually converges on some version of: "I *am* the state. I can not break the law, I am the law, the law is instantiated in me." Our march to authoritarianism so far has been excruciatingly by-the-book. Hitting every beat. No surprises.

The story in the data is horrific! youtu.be/tCi6TnyoIJo?...

Last time, they didn’t even find out NCA4 was happening until too late to do anything more than delay its release + publicly contradict its conclusions. As one of the only non-fed authors on Vol 1, I ran a Twitter thread tracking + rebutting these claims. Not surprised by this at all ⬇️

www.bbc.com/future/artic... Great piece, you had my heart at “carbon neutral” beer. There are so many zero carbon food business ideas here. Wow. Thanks! We need the kelp. A #coolerworld is a cooler world .

A little inspiration for setting those 2025 goals 😉 news.stv.tv/world/polar-...

A sneak peek at the top 5 climate technologies set to rule 2025, including: 🌊 Floating solar 🌱 Soil carbon sequestration ✈️ Green methanol for sustainable shipping fuels Read the full list from @kbrigham.bsky.social below.

One can live on the cutting edge of human thought, or the comfort of mental manipulation: Open vs Closed Curious vs Dogmatic Flexible vs Fixed To question our belief systems (bs for short) is liberating. But to simply swap it for another is a trap. I’m open to being wrong on this….

Great piece by @canarymedia.com www.canarymedia.com/articles/bat...

I have zero patience for people complaining about subsidies for renewables. They are DWARFED by those for fossil fuels, per IMF below. And I categorically disagree with those wanting to claim implicit subsidies aren’t subsidies. That’s utter nonsense. ~$42 trillion in FF subsidies 2025-2030.

This is asinine. Coal plants pollute & prematurely kill more people than any other fuel source. They pay precious little for those damages but we give them renewable energy credits for exporting steam to a petrochemical company no less?! This is paying for greenwashing. #energysky #greensky

Perhaps I’m stuck on stories. Reading to much Greek Mythology (thank you Stephen Fry)? But incredible how we shape our thinking through stories and have for millennia.

Great piece here on Rainn Wilson. Does the climate movement need more spirituality in the mix? Certainly better stories that capture our imagination. imagine5.com/interview/ra...

It’s the BIG ONE! Good news in 2024 you might have missed! Blimey this took an ageee to edit but I hope it can help you end your 2024 with a smile! youtu.be/By3Z8AU-nuc

We have been working in stealth mode for a long time now, but we are soon launching the all-new Drawdown Explorer! A thread...

Heat pumps are gaining market share but still need a full-court press from government and the private sector to cut carbon and energy bills for U.S. homes at scale—and Trump 2.0 won't make that easy. Here's how heat pump advocates plan to take on 2025: www.canarymedia.com/articles/hea... #energysky

Good storytelling shifts beliefs. Great storytelling creates believers. Exceptional storytelling builds belief systems. But poor storytelling? It’s quickly forgotten. How well are we putting into the storytelling of climate innovation, solutions, mitigation and science?

A future where every neighborhood is a 15-minute city: less driving, more parks, and vibrant local businesses. Climate action = happier, healthier lives for all. 🚲🌳 #UrbanSustainability #15MinuteCity

If you want to feel a bit better about the state of the world, I’ve just uploaded my November ✨Good News✨ round up that I hope can put a smile on your face. Share with a friend who may need to hear some good news 🥳

A cooler future is a cooler future. Tell me I’m wrong. The transition needed to meet the climate crises has the potential to land us is a most incredible existence. People want to be cool.

I like things science has done to save millions and millions of lives… Vaccines. Clean water. Sanitation. Pasteurization. Fluoride. Next up? Clean air, a stable climate, healthy watersheds, and thriving ecosystems.

More of this please! 😂 youtu.be/UBKe_6RXsko?...

Coach Greg told me: “If your not on the cutting edge, you’re taking up space.” Good one I said, good one. Then inched over a bit.

Electric heat pumps, the most affordable and energy efficient way to heat and cool homes, continue to outsell gas furnaces nationwide. They can also reduce outdoor pollution and, as a result, save lives, according to a report issued on Tuesday. Here's how.

🚨Clean Energy Fans & Enthusiasts!🚨 I’ve created dedicated BlueSky feeds for the clean energy topics below! All feed links are in the comments 👇🏼 1. Energy Transition Hub 2. Solar Energy 3. Electric Vehicles 4. Wind Energy 5. Nuclear Energy 6. Microgrids Hope this helps the BlueSky community!

Climate positive action needs better storytelling. Go sit at a bus bench in Manhattan. Noisy, dirty, stressful. Now electrify it. Quieter, cleaner, wow! The more people can see how cool the cooler world will be, the faster we get there. #coolfuture #climatestoytelling #climatesolving
