When my sister was 7 my dad grew these insanely hot peppers that he was really proud of. My sister wanted to try one, he told her they were way too hot for her and so she threw an unbelievable hissy fit. So he gave her a pepper to shut her up and she cried even louder once she bit into it.

The way lumber is sold is fucking ridiculous. A 2x4 at Home Depot is 2”x4”, right? Nah, it’s 1.5” x 3.5”. Same bullshit with 4x4s (3.5”x3.5”), 2x6s (1.5”x5.5”) etc. Nothing is ever what it says it is and that is just accepted across the whole industry.
