These were the last in a line of six turkeys checking out a January morning at #deepriver #northcarolina #wildturkey #birds #trailcam #trailcams The wild turkeys I see are almost always in groups, with the males at the beginning and end of the line.

The #deepriver flooded more than I expected (pictured Dec. 12 2024, left). My trail cam, attached at the base of the diagonally leaning dead tree, was almost under water. Today (right) it is well out of the water but I avoided the slippery mud and will get it another day. #trailcam #northcarolina

The Buried Giant by #Ishiguro, was published after Never Let me Go before Klara and the Sun. Buried was disappointing. All three books are fantasy, but Buried Giant is fantasy plus. It was too far from reality for my taste. The reading was overly wordy. I toiled to finish it.
