Our co-chair @drjohnpuntis.bsky.social said: "There is no room for further mistakes given striking increases in people too sick to work, highlighting that if the health service fails, the economy will also fail." www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...

Footage taken at our Patients Not Profit rally outside Parliament on 26 February 2025. We believe that the public healthcare model is not broken, but with the right political will, the NHS can be the world-class health service it was in the past. www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoAh...

"The NHS [during the covid pandemic]..adapted radically different ways of working overnight." Whenever a politician sneers disrespectfully at the NHS (& ergo its staff) for apparantly being set in its ways/slow to adapt - hit them with this. How quickly people forget. bylines.cymru/politics-and...

"Keep our NHS Public held a spirited lunchtime rally to campaign against privatisation in the NHS, bringing together NHS workers, campaigners and others, reports Louis Bailey" 'Rally for patients not profit' www.counterfire.org/article/rall... @keepournhspublic.bsky.social

Thank you to Independent Alliance MP, Iqbal Mohamed, for speaking to our rally outside Parliament on Wednesday. Healthcare is a right, not a privilege! That's why we're standing up for our NHS and calling for the health service to be funded to suceed, not defunded to fail. youtu.be/8a6rNYeOL5U

Thank you to @nadiawhittomemp.bsky.social for speaking at our rainy rally on Wednesday! With the right political will, the NHS can again be the world-class service it once was. youtu.be/X0H56jjA2Lg

Absolutely ludicrous to be in a situation where GPs cannot find jobs despite a chronic shortage, because practices can't afford to employ them. How did we get here? (That's a rhetorical question btw, cos I think we all know the answer.) news.sky.com/story/gps-wo...

Our own Dr John Lister writes for @publicsectorfocus.bsky.social on the govt's plans for increased privatisation. Privatisation is less efficient and costs the taxpayer more than a public system. Read the full piece here: flickread.com/edition/html...

Green Party Co-Leader, Adrian Ramsay MP, is right: "outsourcing diminishes the availability of NHS staff, it makes it harder to tackle waiting lists and it's undermines the very ideals of the NHS." youtu.be/whZvCNB69dg

Thank you to John McDonnell MP, who spoke to our 'Patients Not Profits' rally outside Parliament in the rain yesterday lunchtime! youtube.com/shorts/ISbmv...

Thank you to @richardburgon.bsky.social for braving the rain to speak at our rally outside Parliament yesterday lunchtime. 💙🫰 The message to Keir Starmer is clear: invest in our NHS, not the private sector! www.youtube.com/shorts/GjCYM...

Whatever the weather, rain or shine, we are nothing without our members and supporters who dedicate so much of their time to fighting for our NHS. We are so grateful for their hard work and dedication. Repost if you are too 💙✊

We're not going to let a bit of rain dampen our enthusiasm to tell Keir Starmer loudly, that increased privatisation in the NHS is not the answer. Great to have the support of @johnmcdonnellmp.bsky.social in our fight. 💙✊

. @jbnwogbo.bsky.social from @we-own-it.bsky.social addresses our rally just now outside Parliament. We're here to let Keir Starmer and the govt know that increased privatisation in our NHS is the wrong way to solve the crisis. Repost if you're with us 💙✊

In or near London tomorrow? Please join us outside parliament to let the Prime Minister know that further privatisation of our NHS is NOT the way forward! Join NHS staff & campaigners in sending government a powerful message ✊💙 Please repost! 🙏

Our co-chair @drjohnpuntis.bsky.social writes in @bmj.com about govts latest PFI-like plans: "Government can borrow more cheaply than the private sector, and the debt that has to be paid off for infrastructure projects is much lower if public money is used to finance." www.bmj.com/content/388/...

Our co-chair @drjohnpuntis.bsky.social said: "Despite this crisis in acute care, Labour’s focus is mostly on waiting lists, with highly dubious solutions including investing more money in the private sector and a return to failed and expensive PFI." morningstaronline.co.uk/article/new-...

KONP campaigner Mark Harrison said: "We've no confidence in NHS England, they've presided over 12yrs of failing mental health services. We don't understand how NSFT can be released from the Recovery Support Programme ahead of an independent inspection from the CQC." www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Our co-chair @drjohnpuntis.bsky.social said: "Plans to divert resources to the private sector, seek private investment for infrastructure and embrace the failed market reforms of 25 years ago are a huge concern." morningstaronline.co.uk/article/gove...

Is NHS bureaucracy why it’s in crisis? - TalkTV Or might it possibly be 14yrs neglect and underfunding and now, an ongoing refusal to respond urgently the emergency of 14,000 avoidable deaths, and prioritising instead funding the expansion private health in the NHS? www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kxoo...

With the NHS in crisis, and 14,000 dying avoidably in just one year, the Labour Government is wholly wrong to invest £2.5 billion to give the private sector a stronger base from which to parasitise NHS staff and funding long term #RestoretheNHS morningstaronline.co.uk/article/nhs-...

Privatisation of the NHS US private equity and UK pension fund USS make bid for NHS landlord Assura. Assura was set up in 2003, owns more than 600 healthcare buildings worth £3bn. NHS burdened with rent. This is in addition to PFI payments. Less spent on front line services. archive.ph/QRaGZ

Our co-chairs @drtonyosullivan.bsky.social & @drjohnpuntis.bsky.social write here about how this govt is wrong to embrace the private sector to provide the country's healthcare. Read it here 👇 morningstaronline.co.uk/article/nhs-...

🚨 A call out to all our members and supporters to please support these important strikes in Manchester if you can, and oppose cuts to mental health provision. Please share! @unison.org.uk @unitetheunion.bsky.social

I am so fed up of politicians and media outlets telling us all that the NHS is less productive than pre-pandemic, while completely ignoring the enormous collective trauma endured by its workforce during the largest public health crisis in 75 years.…

Radiologist & a founder member of KONP, Dr Jacky Davis said: "AI will never replace staff. It's imperative that we staff imaging departments adequately and that there is no delay in reporting. Training and employing more radiologists is the only answer.” morningstaronline.co.uk/article/h-25...

An excellent assessment of the situation from @mancunianmedic.bsky.social It's simply not good enough for govt to admit we could still see corridor care next winter. Emergency care should always have been the first priority. bylinetimes.com/2025/02/03/t...

Please sign and share this important petition. Cutting the nursing degree at Cardiff university would have a very serious impact on the NHS workforce and is a short sighted decision. petitions.senedd.wales/petitions/24...

Labour Government must fund the NHS to end the crisis behind 14,000 avoidable deaths - NOT fund the private health sector to further undermine the NHS. @keepournhspublic.bsky.social Month of Action

Our co-chair @drtonyosullivan.bsky.social speaks to Ian Collins about the crisis in emergency care. "The equivalent of several jumbo jets crashing every year should be a national emergency." www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kxoo...

Our co-chair Dr John Puntis said: “The recent Elective Care Recovery Plan fails to acknowledge that, rather than being partners, private healthcare providers are locked in ruthless competition with the NHS in their battle to generate profit." bylinetimes.com/2025/01/27/n...

Amazing what happens when previous govts spend 14 years running a service into the ground isn't it? Our NHS was once the best in the world and make no mistake, it can be again. It just needs the right policies and investment. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

In no other area would 50k avoidable deaths not be billed as a national emergency. This situation has been hideously normalised and, in some ways, accepted, by various govts. Acute care should've been the priority for govt to address & here's the cold hard proof www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/01...

Please sign & share this important petition started by some of our members about funding improvements to secondary care community mental health services. Mental health has long been the poor relation when it comes to healthcare, let's campaign for change. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...

Here our founder member, Dr John Lister explains why the govt's recent announcement on increased private sector involvement is the wrong prescription for our NHS. Read and share 👇 keepournhspublic.com/waiting-list...

Our co-chair @drjohnpuntis.bsky.social spoke to TalkTV about the shocking ongoing situation in our emergency depts. Govt must urgently address this situation which causes around 14,000 AVOIDABLE deaths every year. Patients & staff deserve so much better. youtu.be/fP2fJQzAJHE?...

Read our co-chair Dr John Puntis' take on the govt's latest privatisation plans. Increased private sector involvement is inefficient and only further depletes the NHS. Please share. keepournhspublic.com/starmer-wron...

Our co-chair @drjohnpuntis.bsky.social writes for @novaramedia.com about the potential dangers of AI in healthcare and how it can seriously affect patients. A hard-hitting must read. novaramedia.com/2025/01/17/t...

I agree with this. From personal experience, I know that the lack of suitable caring packages for elderly people leaving hospital, is a reason either for that person to stay longer in hospital than necessary, blocking a bed or for a cycle of discharge, return, discharge, repeat.

Wondering when this govt will at least publicly acknowledge the situation in A&Es is now a national emergency. None of us had any hope that would ever happen with the last lot, but this time I think we all thought/hoped things would be different. Solidarity matters. www.bbc.com/news/article...

With patients unable to be discharged into the community being such a huge contributor to the crisis in emergency care, we shouldn't have to wait another 3yrs for the big improvements that are needed. Read our take on govts latest announcements here 👇 keepournhspublic.com/labours-timi...

Labour & the #NHS: new year, same dangerous mistakes... The government's new health policy announcements look set to further entrench privatisation whilst failing to address the real challenges facing our public health service. Here's what you need to know 🧵⬇️

Pensioners are getting ill because of the cuts to the winter fuel payment. If the government wants a heathier country, and to relieve pressure on the NHS, reversing these cruel cuts is a good place to start!
