I have too many streaming services while also striving to collect too much media in the physical realm.

Still 85 orphaned laser discs out there. Most will never come back to Criterion but my money is on The English Patient soon. boxd.it/d9Esq

Down to 207 with the upgrade of the two Bruce Robinson films. Keep 'em coming @criterion.bsky.social! boxd.it/gqhRo

Updated through May 2025 and Spine 1263 boxd.it/5HRbS

Last night was Fassbinder. Tonight was Flintstones. I contain multitudes.

Latest Criterion by Spine list. Includes March 2025 releases up to "Choose Me" at 1256. boxd.it/5HRbS

March - They're up! www.criterion.com/shop/browse?...

Trying to figure out exactly where my head's at this morning, but I am listening to this and enjoying the fuk owt of it. music.apple.com/us/album/cum...

Hot take on a very cold subject: Neil Young's infamously bad mid-80s albums really aren't that bad. Just contrarian. OK, "Landing on Water" is pretty fucking bad.

Here's my "Jim Thompson's Cinema" list. Movies based on his books, screenplays he worked on, and movie tie-ins he wrote. Corrections welcomed! boxd.it/B5YOk

I’m a sucker for a beautiful Cemetery Dance slipcover, no matter how damn long it takes to get! Thank you, @richardchizmar.bsky.social for another great piece for my shelf.

For years (decades) I've had a half-assed plan to read all of Jim Thompson's available books and reassess their movie counterpoints when relevant. Finally started this week and finished his first. Off to a great start learning his voice.

Seeing Steven Wilson at the London Palladium next May, so this list certainly tracks.

Actually, I asked for VistaVision screenshots on my cummerbund, but this is pretty cool, too.

Signed up for this today. I've seen most of the films being covered but can't wait to rediscover them and delve into the context.

I don’t think there’s anything more minor in the world that I hate more majorly than the cheapass standard Blu-ray monstrosity of a case.

More than worth the dollars they charge on a normal day!

I agree. But I have to assume we all watch TREE OF LIFE every year on Arbor Day. Right?

59 today. Which is now 11 more years than my mom ever got, so no complaints here!

Gave this another read and liked it better than I remembered. All the god stuff used to annoy me. I guess if I can accept make believe antagonists I can also accept a make believe protagonist.

On the one hand it’s sort of annoying that this Bob Mould boxset set doesn’t use the original artwork. On the other, it matches my turntable set up beautifully!

Hot Take or Snot Take? I love the plethora of boutique bluray labels these days but just wish they could just be a little less genre-heavy. I know it all comes down to $$$ but I miss Arrow Academy @arrowvideo.bsky.social more and more every month.

Applies to all physical media. It’s not “unwatched,” it’s “readily-accessible.”

I’m gonna say Wire Train with Live opening. 1991? KJ-104 show.

Great overview of the Coen’s unjustly overlooked near masterpiece.

I remember when 25 years ago was a long time ago. Not fucking 1999.

If you see this, post a knight.

Ok. One more @criterion.bsky.social list. This one is a favorite. All titles from the original 12” line still not upgraded to 5.” I own all these if anyone has any questions. boxd.it/d9Esq/detail

On most days my third favorite film of all time.

This week I randomly saw two of the best films I’ve ever seen on the topic of how to deal with being alone. Vastly different takes but interestingly both have Japanese genes. If ever alone again here’s hoping I choose option 1.
