Maybe Khan should not have done this, and there was no reason for them to respond. But 'pleaded'? "...a pause to negotiations seems the sensible way forward...to consider a wide range of options..."

THE GREATEST POSSIBLE NEWS. #HMHB propermusic.com/collections/...

Paging @thebugle.bsky.social @zaltzcricket.bsky.social @podchris.bsky.social - important historical wang research news now. These scholars clearly have far too much time on their hands and are resolved to solving mankind's greatest debate. Dagger, or prick? www.theguardian.com/world/2025/a...

Has anyone done one to ask the meaning of the saying "to burn the world with online games" to see what it comes up with?

Help us find our people! Be it fans of #scifi, #fantasy, #speculativefiction, or #Booksky type communities, we know you know at least one friend or corner of Bluesky who would enjoy journeying into Realms Unknown. Share us, tell your friends, point us towards the path through the dark woods...

Have been watching, just finished. Good as always, entertaining and amusing despite the gloom of the US shitshow.

Helloooo @thebugle.bsky.social's! And @podchris.bsky.social. Going old style, while looking at artist impressions of a new youth activity base in Barnsley, I couldn't help but notice the painted outline at the centre of this image had a certain familiarity...

This is false. MPs have a budget for contacting constituents but it can’t be used for campaign materials. Hence the Parliamentary green. The poster quoted here has been told this but so far refuses to correct or delete their post.

Everything is breathtakingly stupid

I said before the election that Labour would only succeed if they improved people's lives, and if they were seen to do so. They seem to have learned nothing from the Tory's demise since 2015 - that appealing to the base instincts of UKIP/RFM only benefits the 'populists'.

If ever there was a time for a virulent-norovirus-at-sea story this is it.

Haven't watch all of it yet, though agree. Plus from relatives in different places, I don't know a single one where children are not already restricted on phone use in schools. All this 'ban phones' stuff is a tedious and unnecessary distraction.

An entertaining thread. Can't say I am in a rush to rewatch, and whilst I was young at the time a lot of things ring true.

Extremely bad idea. Want to make a new film or series about post-nuclear war - fine, make one. But as with all else that is no reason to frame as a Threads "reboot". Reboot as a name and idea is terrible at the best of times.

Have been saying this throughout. Anyone who can look at Trump's record since 2016, let alone before, and fool themselves that there is some kind of strategy or plan beyond turning whatever half-formed thoughts he has into words and action: I really don't know what more evidence you need.

Working on Saturdays means occasionally checking the #barnsley scores, completely oblivious today to us having had a player sent off after 3 minutes. Season can't end soon enough #thefootball

Not much to add really. I'm sure the UK were trying to do what it says here, the reality is that it didn't make the slightest bit of difference. And the continued idea that we would have some kind of preferential treatment when it comes to a trade deal is laughable.

You can see the confusion. One is a remote isolated place inhabited by strange creatures, the other is an island near Australia.

Hello bandcamp Friday, if interested I have an album out backxwash.bandcamp.com/album/only-d...

People again are acting as if there is rationality, however warped, behind US logic and actions. And talking as though the diplomacy/contact from the UK/EU/whoever had any bearing whatsoever on these actions. The starting point with the US should be 'the leaders are idiots' and go from there.

Day off dilemma. Do I spend part of this time listening to @iandunt.bsky.social and @dorianlynskey.bsky.social (via Patreon) and a two-part Origin Story on the witch, as known in Scotland? Still remember the celebrations in 90. Those are two loooong episodes.

Interesting pop-up. Great, my first post with the newly expanded character limit!

Seriously, if you worry that upholding the law might be politically bad for the 'optics‘, and could give a boost to the people you want nowhere near power, you have already given up on the principles you claim to be defending.

Why the Le Pen verdict means the end of/is a boon to* the far right in France and across europe. An exclusive analysis and insight from a socio-political and cultural perspective. (1/94) *delete as appropriate to mood

Agree with all this, though would add The Guardian has used exactly the same headline and framing and others aren't better. Quick websearch and every link headline is the same. Which underlines both how bad the interview idea was, and how poor media news coverage is.
