Impromptu gig tonight at Chapel Arts Centre, Bath. Local band River Phoenix Band, offering a mix of country rock, blues and americana. Ably supported by the excellent EDDY, young singer songwriter from Bristol.

The gorge is quite impressive. The town much less so. But full marks to The Mousehole Cafe in Cheddar Gorge for an excellent toasted ciabatta, followed by the obligatory fruit scone. 👌

Winchester Cathedral. Winchester is the ancient home of Wessex, and indeed England, and the remains of a number of ancient English kings were found in the cathedral. Photo shows a current whale exhibition; sperm whales sleep vertically in groups. Learn something new every day!

What an outstanding evening of Prog Rock at 1865 club, Southampton. Well worth the trip from Glasgow! Lee Abraham simply superb (with two guest vocalists, Marc Atkinson and Peter Jones). Great support from Hats Off Gentlemen It’s Adequate who were hugely entertaining and completely bonkers!

Back at Backstage@GreenHotel tonight for a performance by “Outside The Original”. A Scottish based band playing covers of classic prog rock. Very talented musicians, played the whole of Foxtrot amongst many other favourites.

Such an underrated album. I’m sure not many people will agree, but in my opinion, his best solo album! Title track an absolute epic, with beautiful lyrics. No idea why it’s not on the streaming services, but to me it just makes it even more special.

Well, Tiso managed to transfer in the wrong shoe size, so no purchase today. However splendid fruit scone was shared with my better half, from The Summit Cafe. Delicious! Nice a crunchy top and bottom 😉

Bloody freezing at Leven today. 4° but with a -5° wind chill factor. Five layers plus woolly hat and snood. Hand warmers a life saver. Nine over par; can we play this shortened layout in summer please? 🤣

Bitterly cold at Leven Links today. Slightly disappointing that we were on winter greens (St Andrews on summer greens from 10.30 onwards 🧐). Fantastic fruit scone from The Troff, straight out the oven. So excited I forgot to photograph it! New Dream Theater album blasting in car there & back. 🎶👌

Beautiful day at Barassie GC today. We played “The Dundonald Layout” offering a nice change from the usual championship course. Finished seven over par, which sounds fine……but one over at the turn 🙄. Splendid lorne/tatie scone roll for breakfast, with fruit scone after our round. A splendid day!

Lots of trees down after the storm last Friday on the Antonine Course at Dullatur Golf Club. Seven over par today. But of course, shortened course, playing off mats, six winter greens. False sense of ability!!
