I love these deep dives into the kit used by our crews. Thank you @redfunnelferry.bsky.social for helping us share our stories. 💚🚢🚁💛

Am I jealous that my role is behind a desk and not flying through the sky on @hiowaa.bsky.social’s gorgeous Airbus H135? Yeah. Yeah I am. Photo is one of hundreds of glorious photos by our Lead Dr, Simon.

If I’m ever having a crappy day, I remind myself that we’ve ensured there are an additional 500 potential lifesavers out there in the community, and that we won’t stop until there are many thousands. Then I have a Cornetto.

We’ve got some amazing friends. 💚💛💚

Good morning from Helimed56. Strong winds are expected today and over the weekend across the region. We're still online and ready to respond. However, if the weather should stop us flying, we'll be ready to respond with one of our Emergency Response Vehicles. 🚨🚁🚗 📸 Dr Rob Summerhayes.

The face of a man excited to pay a flying visit @hiowaa.bsky.social’s newest partners, @redfunnelferry.bsky.social, and one who is frozen to his very core. Chilly wind whipping up the Solent today.

Merry Christmas from all of us, and Pawamedic Dusty! Thank you so much for all of your lovely Christmas messages. 🎄💚🎉

We are so incredibly delighted to share that we have been chosen as Red Funnel's Charity of the Year! Their amazing support will make a significant difference to our life-saving service and our patients across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. @redfunnelferry.bsky.social 📸 John Ruddy

Hugely proud to be partnering with @redfunnelferry.bsky.social for 2025. We have an exciting year ahead of us.

It’s the final moments of the Red Funnel Charity of the Year vote. @hiowaa.bsky.social are in the running, alongside the wonderful IOW Brainy Bunch and Wessex Cancer Support. Unsurprisingly, I recommend voting for HIOWAA, but any one of these great causes would be deserving of support.

Storming start for our Operation Airbase appeal:

HEMS paramedics are almost always great photographers, and I wish I knew why.

Some great local charities here:

Always a big moment when we discover this one in the Christmas decoration box. 🚁🎄

We get good sunrises here.

Busy, busy year for our crews… Every mission represents a patient having the worst day of their life. I’m in awe at what my colleagues do day and night, 365 days a year.

Here's a stunning blue sky #ViewFromTheCrew as our first ever post. 🚁💚 We're your Air Ambulance and we're ready every day to respond across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Thoroughly recommend following @hiowaa.bsky.social for your #hems #phem #airambulance #helicopter #aviation #hampshire #isleofwight #ukcharity needs. 📸: @ambientlife.bsky.social

A day in the life of a busy and brilliant HEMS crew (plus Pilot Graeme’s story about the time a goat, donkey and sheep surrounded him in the darkness). Thanks to the Daily Mirror and AAUK for the opportunity: www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...

I’m really proud of this one: As well as training every single member of our charity team in CPR and AED use, we now carry a defibrillator on all 7 of our charity vans. These vehicles cover thousands of miles each year, always out and about in the community we serve. www.hiowaa.org/seven-new-de...

I’ve had the pleasure of looking after a mate’s Labrador this week. Safe to say my house is destroyed but Hattie enjoyed having a house guest.

This is always a highlight of my year… Our brilliant (and flight certified) photographer, Tim Wallace, has delivered a fresh batch of 300+ images showing our service in action. Our crew were desperate for “real” photos, not cheesy grins and thumbs-up shots. Boy does he deliver the realism.

We love it when the swamp we live in turns to ice. Gorgeous few miles with this dafty to start the day.

My cousin clings tightly to her dolly as she knows the horror and brutality about to befall that cake.

Six years ago today: Stranded at the most dangerous airport in the world. We stayed in Lukla, Khumbu Valley for 3 days before the clouds parted for 5 minutes and we fought to get on the only plane out, which went nowhere near our intended destination of Kathmandu. Best adventure ever.

A blue sky photo for Bluesky. We’ve had our photographer flying with us this week, and are looking forward to some incredible new images.

Twitter was an absolute bin and I couldn’t get to grips with Threads. Is Bluesky the one for me? Looking for the UK Charity, Salisbury and Hampshire people. I plan to use this for professional stuff but will probably only engage with videos of Golden Retrievers stealing food.
