And I don't mean to sound hyperbolic or overly important, but increasingly historians, archivists, librarians, teachers, etc. are the keepers of the knowledge our government is trying to erase.

"Inner World: Illyana," acrylic on canvas, 24 inches high by 18 inches wide.

Any Democrat who complains about what Al Green did is very bad at reading the room.

The fact that the USA has banned visas for trans people but welcomed rapist Andrew Tate shows how all this "defending women" stuff is total bullshit

This is exactly what I've been saying and doing. Find the pockets of stuff at risk from the digital book burning and save them. Do the physical stuff too where you can. Back up EVERYTHING.

RIP Michelle Trachtenberg. Thank you for the wonderful movies and shows.

The finished version of this piece: "Inner World: Jet the Whore," acrylic on canvas, 24 inches high by 18 inches wide.

A reminder about Chumbawamba: they were an anarcho-punk band and they have a great album of English rebel songs that is highly appropriate for these times. music.apple.com/us/album/eng...

Not a federal employee, but I may or may not have sent out an email saying that the five things I did last week were Puck's soliloquy from Midsummer Night's Dream.

Almost done. I have trouble believing I am now capable of making something like this.

Ex NFL player @chriswarcraft.bsky.social protesting the inclusion of a MAGA acronym in the Huntington Beach library plaque at last night’s council meeting. He was arrested and cited.

It's more important now than ever to save and back up any content you create or even just consume on the internet. There are so many corporations in control of so many aspects of our culture, and all of them are shutting down people's abilities to access things.

Here me out: a remake of Red Dawn, but the "reds" are now all in Maga hats.

I've had multiple people in the last couple of weeks reach out without any provocation to see if I'm okay. I see you and appreciate it. Am I doing good? No. But I do have things in my life that are doing a lot of heavy lifting keeping me sane(ish) and safe.

I'm going to have my first ever solo art show! It's going to be Saturday February 15th from 12 to 4 at Stay True Tattoo in McFarland, WI (just south of Madison). If you're in the area on that day, please come!

I want to do a fanart piece in honor of David Lynch, but I'm having trouble deciding which of his mind bending imagery would work best. His stuff wasn't the kind of work that could be easily expressed in one or two simple images.

Today's work in progress, four hours on it so far.

"Ellie in Sub-Space," 18" long by 12" high, ink on paper.

"Stranger Things: Running Up That Hill," 18 inches high by 12 inches wide, ink on paper.

My idea of how to celebrate Christmas: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9w3...

Current work in progress

Watching two reacters listen to Rockafeller Skank for the first time: R1: "This is great." R2: "But what is it??????????" Girl, the rest of us have been trying to figure that out for getting close to three decades.

Completed "Balloonian Rhapsody" piece

I don't have internet right now so I haven't been able to post progress, but here's day four on the next fanart piece

Completed Terrifier fanart, 18 by 12 inches, black and red ink on paper.

Something I urge everyone to do before they deactivate their Xitter/Facebook accounts: There should be an option in your account to download your history. I highly suggest this. There may be a time in the future where you want to access some of it for your personal records.

Day six. Just the background and a little experiment in colored ink to go.

I you are pro-generative AI, I am the wrong person to follow.

Somehow I ended up on a follow list of academic historians. While not technically correct, I am a big advocate for archiving a wide range of historical things. But if you're following me, expect my art to be the most common thing you see.

And this is why we simply airlock them. Do not report. Do not argue. Do not reply. Do not hate follow. Report their accounts, add them to the block feeds (you can look up how to do that), and then block them. No platform. No air. They do not deserve any joy. And they do not get to feed from ours.

My friends and I keep talking about how the stuff you're going to end up doing to help, if you're serious about helping, is not going to look heroic or cool. 99.9% of the work is tiny and boring and all the main characters are gonna have to reckon with that.

RIP Tony Todd. Thank you for all the wonderful movies.

Day five

Day four on my Terrifier piece. A challenger appears!

Now is a good time to archive lots of things, and to make sure they aren't kept in government controlled locations.

Day three on a Terrifier fan piece.

Turning away from a few other socials and experimenting here.

Science friends in the U.S.: we have two months to make sure data, code, and websites are saved somewhere securely. This isn't going to be pretty.
