Our Japanese Magnolia often blooms right before a hard freeze. Rare is the year it doesn’t. Embrace beauty in all it forms.

New site by government workers. “Here, you'll find stories from real government employees: How we save you time and money, how we protect your personal information, and how DOGE's dangerous dismantling of government technology puts you at risk.” www.wethebuilders.org

This made me snort-laugh. Thank you, Britt of Wyoming!

More tools to keep up the pressure and the momentum.

How about we don’t get that far. No kings in America.

This is great coloring book about trispot darters in Alabama and Georgia and things and creatures they encounter in our river systems. Good stuff! Thanks, for sharing this @jacquelyngill.bsky.social

Tracking is important. Personal experiences are posted, sources of data are provided. @altnationalpark.bsky.social maybe of interest to you and other #altgov?

Another good reason to read a book.

I sent a card with a note of appreciation to the office of my local USFWS office today. Big bear hugs to all federal workers. I know it’s not enough. Card from Just A Jar Press.

This is brilliant. Well played, Mapquest!

“Part of my advocacy for not surrendering is sustaining, which involves taking breaks, pleasure, and beauty.“

Thank you, Ben Goldfarb! Looking forward to reading your latest and delighted to compare the Alaskan beaver-chewed stick with those of my local Alabama castorids. @bengoldfarb.bsky.social

#50501movement seems interesting.

It did my heart good to watch my students watching Yellow-rumped Warblers while on a field trip to a local nature park. I look forward to seeing their nature journal entries.

These patriots are naming names about Musk’s minions. Many identified as Space X employees with no transparency and no knowledge about how things work in the agencies they’ve been tasked to decimate. Devastating to federal workers, ultimately this hurts us all.

Happy Presidents' Day to the 44 presidents who never tried to become a fascist dictator.

So many heartbreaking stories. Where is your rage? Hopefully it is fueling your efforts to contact your reps, to protest, and to resist.

This is the name I’d been waiting to see. Decolonize.

This.

No surprise. Pass it on.

Lovers and protectors of the Cahaba River—here’s a new resource. Cahaba Riverkeeper announces the launch of Cahabapedia, a permanent and easily accessible digital map and data repository of information on the Cahaba River watershed that is available for use by the general public.

@petebuttigieg.bsky.social This is a brilliant idea.

Beyond disgusted.
