Poilievre just said he supported the armaments to Ukraine, another lie, he voted against all supports, every single one. 🤬

When corporations make it hard to compare prices of TP, paper towels, soft drinks, etc., this is a great service from @halifaxretales.bsky.social: halifax.retales.ca/calcs/

I hope the results are this good or even better for the #Liberals in Atlantic Canada. But the sample sizes in Atlantic Canada are so tiny as to be statistically meaningless. For example, #ECOS polled 1200 Canadians. If 1/40th were Nova Scotians, the margin of error would be +/-18 percentage points.

I'm not a fan of celebrity endorsements, but if Neil Young is going to pick a side, I'm glad he's choosing our side, not the party that wants to bring MAGA ideals and policies to Canada.

Bring back *everyone* who was sent from the U.S. to CECOT in El Salvador. *No one* should be sent there. ALL their rights were violated. ALL of them should come home.

As in this case, "privacy concerns" are often just an excuse for official cowardice.

I wrote about this for my newsletter today: some useful lessons from 18th-century impressment crises on why and how to resist state kidnapping in the 21st century buttondown.com/hsnowcontact...

Interesting. Two of the grievances in the Declaration of Independence condemned the Crown for denying legal protection, especially imprisonment without cause. “For depriving us, in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury.” “For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offenses.”

At least one US president cares to denounce this attack.

A nice tribute to anonymous party workers in general, and to my fellow former Lawrence Street denizen Joanne Lamey in particular.

Normally if someone tries to kill a governor, the president is briefed, calls the governor, and issues a statement committing resources to bringing perps to justice. It’s not just that we don’t expect Trump to be kind—we have to wonder if he’ll allow a real investigation at all.

Schrodinger's Trump in action again. No actual policy, just a series of whims and impulses that are expressed in vague and incoherent ways, leading to various efforts to define and redefine them until the mad king's next utterance

Today’s best grebe-rescue content

Per a source, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who has required that he approve all contracts over certain thresholds personally, has over 5000 review requests on his desk. Apparently he approves around 15/day.

Court order defied. Yes, another. The Trump admin hasn’t taken steps to bring back Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who by their own admission they erroneously sent to a Salvadoran prison, and missed a deadline. As @gregsargent.bsky.social writes, deliberately avoiding the legal process is part of the point.

This is SO on point. 🚨 Pierre's contempt for Canadians, rules, and parliamentary conduct have been established. 𝑾𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒅.

JFC. How is this anything close to effective Dems messaging? Trump. Hasn’t. Backed. Down. 145% tariff on China 10% tariff on 200 other countries 25% tariff on steel 25% tariff on cars 25% tariff on Mexico & Canada.

Hank Aaron hit HR 715th on 4/8/1974, breaking Babe Ruth's record. Did you know he started his pro career playing SS for the Indianapolis Clowns in the Negro Leagues? #negroleagues #thehammer #americanhistory

Poilievre just called CTV News’ Judy Trinh a “protester” because she dared try to ask him a question outside of the incredibly rigid four-questions-no-follow-up process his party has. Very cool stuff

NEW: China is furious at JD Vance following the VP's crude remarks about "Chinese peasants." China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls Vance's comments "ignorant and impolite." Vance has once again made a massive blunder on the international stage.

This was the breakdown in the SCOTUS deportation decision: For the government: Roberts, Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh. Against: Coney Barrett, Jackson, Kagan, Sotomayor. Notice anything about this breakdown?

This is Utah in case anyone’s wondering how pissed off people are. I have never seen anything like this.
