People need to understand how bad this is.

Tesla paid $0 in federal income tax last year. 2022: $0 2021: $0 2020: $0 2019: $0 2018: $0 Tesla reported $6.7 billion in profit in those years.

ugh

I WANT YOU TO STOP BEING AFRAID: of other Americans of other religions of other classes of other nations of speaking out. YOU'RE AMERICANS. ACT LIKE IT! If you don't get it, ask an American who does."

Most MAGAs appear to be paranoid. Be sure to forward this notice to them: "Someone's therapist knows all about you." :-)}

This recent cartoon by Bill Bramhall (NYDN) resonates with me. Trump & MAGA freaks want to 'drill, baby, drill', especially in my home state of Alaska. He's also drilling holes in our US Constitution. Trump continually violates his oath of office & must be removed: 18 USC 2381 CONGRESS MUST ACT NOW!

CONGRESS: DON'T PLAY POLITICS WITH OUR HEALTH CARE! STOP THE CUTS TO MEDICAID! The GOP wants to cut $2.3 trillion from Medicaid & give that money to the wealthy. Medicaid is a lifeline for 80+ million Americans: children, people in nursing homes & those living with a disability & chronic illness.

Worst week for science EVER. Sunday: ASM scrubs DEI mentions from website. Tue: NASA scrubs DEI from website; ICE arrests a student on campus; NSF plans to cut staff; USAID halted. Wed: HHMI kills diversity program; NIH trashes applications for diversity F grants. Fri: NIH cuts indirects.

My sons' book today had an excerpt about the first woman astronaut, Sally Ride. It said she applied to a program at #NASA that was recruiting women, which eventually led her to become the first American woman in #space. One of the many reasons why #DEI programs matter: they break barriers 👩‍🔬⚛️🧬🍎🧪🥽👩‍🚀👨‍🚀🌌

SpaceX and its subsidiary Starlink, companies that Musk owns, have received approximately $1.7 billion from NASA, $1.3 billion from the Air Force, and $199.2 million from the Defense Information Systems Agency --- a massive total over $3.3 billion in just the past 12 months. REPOST

DOGE and the Trump administration are illegally freezing Congressionally appropriated funds (including Medicaid and infrastructure funds) and ignoring court mandates. Congressional Rs must stand up to this lawlessness. oag.ca.gov/news/press-r...

🚨 How many Americans rely on Medicaid or CHIP in *your* Congressional District? #HandsOffOurMedicaid #Alabama: 952,000 (19% of total pop) #Alaska: 250,000 (34% of total pop) #Arizona: 1.96 million (26% of total pop) #Arkansas: 821,000 (27% of total pop) acasignups.net/25/01/29/how...

I am already SO very tired of the press showing nice pictures of musk, even in critical articles. If I've gotta see the jerk at all, I want to see him looking really stupid, or like he just rolled out of bed after a hangover/drug-fueled stupor, not this perfectly coiffed, smug smiling bs.

Hey, is anybody else out here playing pocket camp complete tonight? I'd love to see your camper cards!

Don Rosa of Disney Duck comics and Fred Gallagher of Megatokyo were both architects, and this is what their art looks like - both excellent. "The past doesn't define who you are. It just gives you the starting point for who you're going to be." - Red vs. Blue, Season 10.

Hey, does anyone else have issues getting bsky to work on firefox, or is it just my computer being a weirdo again?

Whiskey beeps for your enjoyment

How is everyone? Everyone:

Reminder to all artists retweeting peoples art on bluesky has no negative impact on your algorithmic presence! There's literally 0 reason not to retweet art you like!

Thank goodness Rudy can count on his compassionate, loyal and supportive friend Donald Trump

NEW: A federal judge has denied a Jan. 6 defendant's bid to stave off sentencing in the hope of receiving a Trump pardon. "The potential future exercise of the discretionary pardon power … is irrelevant to the Court’s obligation to carry out the [court's] legal responsibilities." (via Kyle Cheney)

I've now had two different friends with high school aged daughters who've been subjected to shitty teenage boys telling them "your body, my choice." And to say I'm incandescently angry is an understatement. Guys, you shut that shit down if you hear it. This one is your work.

One of my favorites from my collection! Unfortunately I have no background info. This lady looks awesome and I wish I knew more about her (and her friend). ☹️

Any Dem acting like we need to push further right needs to be tossed immediately. Harris lost, but not by as much as people are saying. Anyone talking like this has always wanted to be more conservative and now they have an excuse. Fuck off.

Today's an excellent day to remind people that here on Bluesky I don't tolerate jerks and trolls, I just block them without comment, and I commend this policy to you as well

Thousands of voters in Nevada — many of them young — still need to verify their signatures on mail-in ballots before they can be counted by the Nov. 12 deadline, Nevada’s top election administrator said Tuesday.

The big story tonight is Russia’s overt attack on America’s election - they didn’t even try to hide it - yet it’s being hugely underreported. This is a huge deal - a superpower intervention to help Trump win.

Poseidon wants to remind you to stay hydrated, well fed, and rested. We have a lot of work to do irrespective of “election” specifics. Together is the only way we build liveable todays and tomorrows.

You otter vote!

I see you, People Magazine, the day before the election. 👀

“We’re the party panicking about so many women voting” is a look, I’ll say that much.

I think a lot about the utterly dead wrong decision in Trump v. Anderson being unanimous.
