1. Clay Jackson, a Texas lawyer, provided basic legal advice to an immigrant family fearing deportation Then, two officers visited him at his home, accusing him of "obstructing an ongoing immigration investigation" Then, after speaking publicly, he was fired from his job at a Fortune 500 company

You now have T-minus 3 days to back #TheExpanse comic by Wes Chatham, Francesco Pisa and me. The option to override this campaign expires in T-minus 3 days.

@rollingstone.com Have y'all considered providing gift links. I often want to share articles with my friends, but they aren't subscribers.

One of the happiest updates I’ve written since I started following this story. 12 students back in status and maybe more to come. Across the country, students are saying their SEVIS is back. www.dailycal.org/news/campus/...

NEW on how Mohsen Mahdawi was detained in a "trap." At a citizenship interview, he signed his pledge to “defend the Constitution." The official left to go “check” something. Said he'd be back. Then masked & armed agents came in, shackled Mahdawi, and tried to fly him 1000 miles away to Louisiana.

Not even us.

20 years ago, Texas studied immigration and found that undocumented immigrants' economic contributions outweighed their costs. Now, for the first time since, Texas may conduct a similar study — but only focus on the costs.

New at The Watch: A Texas attorney gave some free legal advice to an undocumented family. Then two law enforcement officers showed up at his door. radleybalko.substack.com/p/the-courag...

Disney wrote Andor season 2 like, specifically for me!

This is deranged. Jan. 6 defendants were repped by one of the best public defender offices in the U.S. They were more likely to be released pretrial & got comparatively light sentences. SCOTUS threw out a bunch of convictions, which almost never happens. They got gold-plated due process!

oh hey welcome to your trial, blackshirts

oh, so in the middle of this, we actually cut loose a bunch of high-ranking MS-13 members to help Bukele keep his truce? there are just so many fucking layers of awful shit tied up in these 3 plane flights.

@audiecornish.bsky.social: Our whole portrait of him as described by the White House is informed by somebody who was indicted for misconduct? @rparloff.bsky.social:Yeah. It's double hearsay stemming from a document written by somebody indicted for misconduct.

Just updated this timeline to fix a typo and address an error in the last box where I'd gotten the manner of arrest wrong. I present the full version Mr. Abrego's time in the United States, using court documents to explain the allegations of gang membership and what actually happened in his case.

Here's the script, folks. It's now or never. Capitol switchboard: (202) 224-3121 Local office numbers: www.congress.gov/members/find... RTs appreciated.

Since the Trump admin continues to claim Mr. Abrego Garcia is a gang member, I thought I'd take the time to put together a timeline, based on all the documents filed in court, which lays out all the "evidence" the government has ever offered. As you'll find out, there's very little "there" there!

“.. ‘This is their M.O.,’ Mr. Mahdawi’s lawyer, Luna Droubi, said. ‘They just continue to hide the individual to the point where their attorneys can’t quite understand or identify where to file.’” @nytimes.com www.nytimes.com/2025/04/14/n...

BREAKING: Supreme Court upholds district court order that the Trump administration "facilitate" the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was improperly sent to El Salvador. More to come at Law Dork: www.lawdork.com

"The two-page memo, which was obtained by The Associated Press, does not allege any criminal conduct by Khalil" "Rather, Rubio wrote Khalil could be expelled for his beliefs." Free this man immediately. apnews.com/article/mahm...

If my state had senators who weren't mindless Trump toadies, maybe they would force the White House to restore functionality to the SSA website.

NEW: Mike Waltz and Susie Wiles both left their Venmo friend lists public, which experts say is a counterintelligence nightmare, until @wired.com reached out for comment earlier today. From @dmehro.bsky.social @timmarchman.bsky.social www.wired.com/story/michae...

Caving to these guys will not save you. You will alienate your core consumers, and then lose autonomy as these proto-autocrats push for more acquiescence

BREAKING: Federal court blocks Texas A&M's ban on student drag shows in @thefireorg.bsky.social lawsuit. "To ban the performance from taking place on campus because it offends some members of the campus community is precisely what the First Amendment prohibits." www.thefire.org/news/victory...

I’m the Canadian who was detained by Ice for two weeks. It felt like I had been kidnapped

Mark Klein, who died March 8, showed enormous bravery in exposing the largest U.S. government domestic spying operation in history. "I'm just devastated that we weren't able to get Mark justice during his lifetime,” EFF’s Cindy Cohn told @theregister.com.

The @nytimes.com just discovered parallel computing.

I know this first hand. When I was a child, my entire community was branded as spies and sabateurs, justifying our internment inside barbed wire camps for years without due process, trial or charge.

ICE stripped a German green card holder naked, drove him from Boston to Vermont to Rhode Island, put him in a cold shower, deprived him of medication, sleep and food until he collapsed. No one knows why he was detained.

Cowards, every single one of them

Musk called DOGE “maximally transparent,” but it has refused to release info about its spending and operations — including the names of its employees. ProPublica has identified 46 of them, including 12 new names we've just added.

Apple shareholders rejected a proposal to scrap the company's DEI programs. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

"Multiple kidneys had to be thrown out because of transport delays — couriers not picking them up in time or airlines misplacing them. One was accidentally left on an airport luggage trolley." www.propublica.org/article/trum...

It’s not just Space X. Musk was able to save Tesla because of a loan from the Dept of Energy. Here he is in 2013 filled with gratitude for the federal agency & the taxpayers who saved his business. From reporting by @puck.news. airmail.news/issues/2025-...
