I’m travelling on public transport again today - brace yourself!

This is grotesque. UK to invest £2bn in drones to make army ‘10 times more lethal’ www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Was just drifting off to sleep around 10pm and in true ADHD fashion, thought ‘hmm it’s June, I’m sure the primary school appeals deadline is this week’, looked it up and why yes, it’s today - 2 June. So I have put in our appeal. I don’t think we meet the appeals criteria but have given it a good go.

At a wedding - the couple did the traditional cutting of the cake and my 4yo said ‘do we get party bags now?’

More travel diaries - got a seat on the train to Nottingham (rammed) by announcing ‘is anyone willing to give up a seat for someone 8 months pregnant*’ quite amazed at the people looking at me / my bump and then averting their eyes! *didn’t declare I’m actually disabled and pregnant - double whammy

It’s quite rare that I leave Stirchley, but when I do, I’m reminded how crucial it is to have earplugs / noise cancelling headphones. People are so loud and inconsiderate with their phone use 🙉

🗓️ Save the date - The A38 Cycleway (Mobility Lane) turns 6 soon. Join us on Saturday 7 June for a led ride, help to get the counter at Sir Harry’s Road up to 6,000 in a single day, and come tell us what journeys the current lane and future extensions will enable for you. 🥰 More details soon.

My cat is back! She’s not in a good way (not quite sure what’s up) so I’m off to the vets with her in an hour. Fingers crossed she’s going to be okay🤞

She didn’t come home through the open window I’d left for her overnight. I think this means she’s officially missing. Keep an eye out Stirchley / Hazelwell Pub area folks!

One of my cats hasn’t been seen all day - don’t quite want to declare her missing - but it is very unlike her. She’s a softie and comes as a pair so it is strange she’s not here! If you’re around the Hazelwell Pub area of Stirchley please keep a look out.

This morning I saw two drivers who were not only shouting to eachother having a conversation while driving along the Pershore Road - one car in front of the other - but quite obviously texting each other too?! (Both women in their 30s - noting this because I normally I whinge about men)

Just a reminder that on average 5 people die and 80 are seriously injured on UK roads EVERY DAY. Why does that not make the headlines and get ministerial statements?

It’s been four and a half years since the Government consultation on banning pavement parking with still no outcome. “For most people, being pushed into the road to walk around cars is not nice. But for some, that is literally putting them off leaving the house.”

A friend has dropped us off an amazing aubergine and potato curry - hot enough to knock socks off, but not hot enough to kickstart labour thankfully 🤣❤️‍🔥

Before being a parent I said I would never cook different meals for my children but here I am, double dinners every day 😆 caponata and rice for me and Phil, broccoli, pork and rice for B!

Bluesky has a setting that will remind you to add alt text before posting any images. Go to "Settings," then "Accessibility." Select the checkbox for "Require alt text before posting."

Once a day for a few hours, there’s a low level rumbling from my next door neighbour’s tumble dryer or dishwasher. It’s just the right frequency for me to be at the very edge of my cognitive load 😵‍💫 🙉

Dining table morning carnage - B has been colouring and cutting - and I’m sorting through 50+ packets of seeds, wondering what I have time for / room for 😆 bit late for some things but on account of climate breakdown all timescales seem a bit off anyway.

A bird flew over and pooed in my drink at Nick Booth’s celebration of life - I think he’d have found that fucking hilarious.

One of the figures my landlord suggested in our renewal conversation was twice what I pay now. He’s left it for me to tell him how much I want to pay though. To be continued!

It is taking *weeks* to paint my room. So this afternoon’s job… first base coat on wall number 3!

Wow. An honest review of an SUV. www.irishtimes.com/motors/revie...

The allotment whatsapp group has been popping off this evening - a few of us have been making little bird/creature escape routes in the water butts by the taps… and other folks have been fishing them out. Little signs needed 🪧

My one ‘coral charm’ peony - maybe next year the plant will produce two!

The fact that nothing changes after each of these incidents must really compound the trauma for loved ones harmed in these all too frequent occurrences in Birmingham. There is no good reason why cars need to have access to so many of our roads.

staging a show-and-tell about a fake genocide during a real genocide to the government that has done the most to seek justice for that real genocide is designed to break our brains. They know what they are doing. www.cnn.com/2025/05/21/w...

When using Microsoft Word or Google Docs, don't just make text bigger and bolder to make it a heading. That will work for sighted users, but screen reader users will miss that and just hear it as normal paragraph text. Use actual heading styles, like level 1 through 6.
